...While Star Citizen doesn’t belong to any particular country, I do feel like the Star Citizen community is an extended family and I thought today would be a perfect day for me to express the thanks of myself and everyone at Cloud Imperium Games to every one of you for believing in us.

Over this past year, I’ve constantly been amazed at the enthusiasm and support we received. The monetary side, while headline grabbing, is only one component. I’m amazed at the participation of a growing community; the ideas, the debates, the fan fiction and art, the gifts for the team, the growing number of groups and alliances, the friends made and the sheer investment every one of you have in the universe of Star Citizen. The energy and excitement of the community has been the biggest surprise and the most rewarding part of building a game this way. After experiencing this, I don’t know how I could ever go back to the old way of making games.

As the community has grown and as our total funds raised for development has escalated beyond all expectation, we’ve become higher profile in the general gaming press.

Some of the increased visibility is good. People are waking up to the fact that Space Sims and PCs are not a dead genre or platform, people are seeing the benefits of involving your community early and sharing your work and gamers are realizing the power they have to choose what they want to play rather than accept predictable sequels offered by big publishers wanting to play it safe.

But this extra visibility has also brought the inevitable doubters or people that just hate to see something out of the ordinary succeed. “It’s a scam!” “It can’t live up the hype!” “I’ll laugh when it fails and everyone is disappointed!”

With the headlines will come inevitable haters. They can’t comprehend why a game like Star Citizen could capture the imagination, why so many people would enthusiastically support something long before it’s a sure thing. Sometimes I wonder this myself.

But when I think about it, one answer comes to me.

We’re all following a dream with Star Citizen.

That’s because Star Citizen isn’t a game in a normal sense of the word. It’s not a finite experience that you will play for a week and put down. Star Citizen is the promise of endless adventure in the openness of space. We all don’t have the same exact dream. Some of us want to explore uncharted stars, some of us want to build a trading empire, some of us want to make our name as a fearless bounty hunter or mercenary or some want to pray on easy targets as a notorious pirate. The spaceship sitting in our hangars represents that promise of adventure, the ability to blast off into space to make our fortune and a name for ourselves. We all in some way are following our childhood dreams when we looked up to the stars and wondered what it would be like traveling among them.

This dream drives everyone at CIG and I’m pretty sure it’s why so many of you have embraced Star Citizen with such enthusiasm.

We are not building Star Citizen to turn a quick profit, or satisfy shareholders at some big Publisher, we’re building Star Citizen because we want to make this dream a reality. One that you are helping become a reality with your incredible support. People may say how can you do all this? How can you build such a wildly ambitious game?

We’re in this for the long run. Because of your incredible support, we are already the biggest budgeted Space Sim in history, giving us the freedom to hire the best of the best and to take the time to do things right. However I’m not foolish enough to think everything will always go perfectly on Star Citizen. We will occasionally stumble. Not everything will go according to plan. And we definitely won’t be able to build a game that matches everyone’s personal vision of the game. That’s impossible with so many people!

But I’m confident that with this team and the support of everyone in the growing Star Citizen community we will deliver a game that will make the majority of you happy and create a universe that all of us will spend many years to come creating our own stories. A universe that will never be static, but always improving and expanding. I am more committed to this than ever and the team and I won’t be satisfied with anything less.

So today, the team and I give thanks to all of you for being such an amazing community and giving us your trust. We won’t let you down!

I juče na Fejs grupi za Roberts Space Industries naiđem lika koji je napisao sjajan komentar sa kojim mogu 100% da se poistovetim.

Ovo će za nas starije biti oživljavanje tih dobrih trenutaka koje smo imali kao klinci. Samo da ne s*enjaju nešto u međuvremenu, da nas ne lupi ISON i sl :)

Meni je sjajno to što ovo zapravo postaje igra o kojoj sam sanjario kao klinac negde tokom 90-ih godina prošlog veka. Manji i veći brodovi, pojedinačne uloge u velikom brodu i mogućnost napredovanja kroz neku vrstu hijerarhije i globalne ekonomije...
Doduše u mojoj mašti se ona odigravala u Star Wars univerzumu, ali ne bunim se ni ovako :p

Doduše u mojoj mašti se ona odigravala u Star Wars univerzumu, ali ne bunim se ni ovako :p

Upravo to :D Samo što je u mojoj mašti to bio Star Trek :) Jedva čekam da vidim taj element gde više igrača upravlja jednim brodom.
 
Suma sumarum, osim zverine od kompa trebace i neki ozbiljan dzojstik. Mada kontam za igrace koji ce da se baziraju na trgovini i proizvodnji ce biti dovoljni mis i tastatura. Za hard core pvp igrace ce trebati neki saitek, a to je malo teze u srbiji naci.
 
Ja prodadoh svoj F.L.Y. 5 ali i nije bio neki :)

Nego jesu li pominjali oko modovanja na zvaničnom serveru da li ćemo moći da farbamo brodove u svoje boje?
Bilo bi super da svaki skvadron ima svoj custom kolor skin :)
Pretpostavljam da ne bi bilo teško da se to omogući, kao neki in-game paintshop u hangaru :)

EDIT: Čitam sad na forumu, razmišlja se o ovome samo je pitanje da li može da se implementira a da ne utiče na performanse, network i da ne budu neke bezobrazne stvari :)
Nego našao sma lika iz Kalifornije, ladno je na avatar stavio Otpor-ovu pesnicu ukombinovanu u SC logo :smash:

Pa bem li ga ja bas pogledah onaj custom 300i i pomislih istu stvar. Definitivno ce moci da se farbaju ali ako to budu kombinacije 2 boje onda cemo imati kamaru copy-pastovanih brodova u svemiru. Nadam se da ce to da rese.

Ah...jos se nadam nekoj ozbiljnoj 10-o sezonskoj Star Wars seriji u KOTOR fazonu, kad je vec sve zamrlo na tom frontu..nadam se da ce film biti nesto
 
Mislim da bi Star Citizen igrana serija mogla biti vredna gledanja jednog dana kad krene prikazivanje.

Koliko god da je Kris Roberts dobar u pravljenju svemirskih simulacija, toliko je očajan sa hroma ki efektima i filmićima koje je ubacio u Wing Commander :) Mislim da je i Uve Bol bolji od njega u tom reonu :)

Mislim, jeste da su nam kao klincima svi ti efekti bili super, al za današnji standard je to krš težak :d Bolje da za sad napravi neku dobru igru, neka razradi priču i ceo taj novi univerzum koji su izmislili.
 
Jel znaš ti koliko je vremena prošlo od tada? Kris Roberts je producirao par jako dobrih filmova.
 
Producirao i režirao... dva pojma. Jedno je prikupljanje sredstava za projekat, drugo je kreativno osmišljavanje filma. U onom drugom je očajan.

Nevezano za ovaj konkretno slučaj, producenti vrlo često više utiču na film nego sam režiser, uglavnom u negativnom smislu :d

Lord of War - odličan film.

Tamo gde je bio režiser i gde je koristio glumce - čist bullshi* :) Klasičan gejmerski treš na koji smo se ložili kao klinci :d Ono o čemu sam pričao - loš hroma ki, loše maske i sl.

O klanovima / organizacijama

Organization Types
On launch, you will be able to select a type for your organization. This defines the groups overall goal. We’ve divided organizations into five archtypes:

Corporation – a for-profit business entity. A corporation is a great choice for everything from shipping flo-pets to Goss II to organizing a hostile takeover of Origin Jumpworks.
PMC (Private Military Company) – For organizations with a taste for combat. Focuses for PMCs include escorting cargo runs, hunting for pirates or helping the UEE take on the Vanduul.
Faith – Organizations that have come together for a single cause or under a single banner. This could be rebels fighting for Terran independence… or the devout followers of the LAMP!
Syndicate – Common interest groups for those who operate on the edges (or outside) the law. There’s safety in numbers when you’re moving contraband through Spider or preying on hapless cargo ships.
Organization – Want to make your own way without any previous association? Feel free to leave your group’s archetype blank!

Archetypes are a roleplaying element and do not impact the actual functioning of the organization; you’ll still be free to organize your group as you wish regardless of which type you choose.

Nadam se da će jednom biti izglasan onaj ghost world kao stretch goal, zvuči zanimljivo :)
 
Biće Stellar Graveyard, najviše glasova ima. Nije loše ni to.

Inače, kojim putem ćete da krenete kad izađe igra? Trgovina, bounty hunting, pirati, istraživači? :)

U jednom trenutku sam zamenio paket na Freelancera, pa sam se ipak vratio na F7C, jer kapiram da će svi da se nalože da budu pirati.

Meni je glavni cilj da napravim što veću kolekciju brodova :) a rano je da kažem koji način bogaćenja će me najviše zabaviti :d
 
Posto je prosao LTI i ostao sam na Freelanceru,bice neki trade/exploration. :)

Ali verovatno posle par nedelja napravim alt char koji ce krenuti od nule i biti pirat :D
 
Ja idem vojnom granom, obezbeđenje, bounty hunting i sl. Nekako mi je super ona fora da možeš da zarobiš drugog igrača i da ga strpaš u zatvor :)

Zanima me da li će i pirati na taj način moći da zarobljavaju trgovce i da traže otkup za njih? :)
 
Ne znam da li ćeš moći da uhapsiš/zarobiš i pravog igrača ili samo NPC? Ne deluje mi mnogo interesantno da me hapse i otimaju :)

Bilo bi logično da mogu da se hapse pravi igrači a ne samo NPC. Ako ne bude tako onda će svi igrati kao pirati.
 
Koliko "duboko" moze da se isprogramira ovakva igra da bude nalik Riddicku npr... U fazonu da te npr. kao kriminalca zarobe i strpaju u neki zatvor na nekoj koloniji dozivotno (ako hoces da igras tako, mozes ili da prekonvertujes svog lika u NPC, a ti da otvoris nov nalog ili sta vec), gde onda izbije neka pobuna pa ti pobegnes i tako...

Nisam citao vezano za ekonomiju, ali hoce li postojati neka centralna banka, Zemlja i vlada...Mogu li se igraci opredeliti za ulogu politicara i da samo to rade dok su logovani...zanima me da li bi bilo tako nesto moguce, da se potpuno sve iz stvarnog zivota prebaci u virtuelni ( kad sam vec kod ovoga jel bese Second Life igra trebalo bas da ide u tom pravcu?)
 
Čitao sam da će biti opcija da se uhapse i pravi igrači, zato će i biti tako zanimljivo :) Rekli su i da će biti opcija ili da odležiš kaznu ili da pokušaš da nekog podmitiš da izađeš, da pobegneš iz zatvora i sl. Tada se igra prebacuje u FPS.

Ono što je super je taj FPS element - borba, zauzimanje brodova, popravljanje broda iz prvog lica u FPS modu...

...uh.... :D
