I na engleskom....
The HD6000 series (Southern Islands) should therefore be officially unveiled in October and in November the market will be available. Next unclear what ATI chips will present at the time, but it is assumed that one will start with the high-end chip (Cayman). Since the Southern Islands generation is manufactured in TSMC's 40nm process is the delay between the individual chips may not be as large as the current HD5000 series. Since the TSMC 28nm manufacturing process is not time for the year 2010/2011 to offer for mass production, ATI had to act with "Southern Islands" a generation between the planned "Northern Islands" Generation insert.
According to current rumors in the Southern Iceland chips also significantly improved scanning engine are finding their way. Originally, this should have been planned only for Northern Islands, now celebrating their debut but in advance of the next generation. Next, this new scanning engine with a significantly improved Tesselationseinheit. Whether it is possible with this is to go with Nvidia's Fermi-like architecture itself must surely show. How much room is there for increasing the shader units to be seen. Rumours are currently 1920 shader units in the high-end version "of Cayman."
The structure of shader units is set to change with the introduction of Southern Islands too. Is there a shader cluster on ATI still current of 16 5-D VLIW units (80 shader units), there are future only 16 4-D VLIW units, that is, 64 shader units per cluster. This is intended primarily to increase the efficiency of the shader clusters further modified at the same time but also the ratio of shader and texture units from the current 1:20 to 1:16. In plain language this means then 25 percent more texture units per shader. Whether ATI also changed the memory interface, or simply faster GDDR5 memory is currently installed is not known. Currently working the HD5000 series, despite relatively narrow memory interface is still pending on bandwidth limit. That could change with the HD6000 series, however, the plan is here, 30 percent or more of raw performance, it will be tight. However, at year-end should also faster GDDR5 memory at affordable prices with a clock speed of 3000 MHz will be available.
