http://www.videogamer.com/pc/mafia_2/preview-2383.htmlve used this opportunity to take a look at how the PC version compares to its console peers, and to further peek my nose into the cut-throat world of Empire Bay.
The first thing to note is that the game now seems to be quite a bit more refined. While I thoroughly enjoyed my last outing with wiseguy wannabe Vito Scaletta, there were quite a few graphical issues that needed sorting out - particularly the way that enemies seemed to jerk and strobe around the screen when things got busy. On the PC at least, it seems as if these bugs have stamped out; even during the climactic shoot-out at the end of the mission, the greasers seemed perfectly graceful as they took cover, returned fire and dashed away like snivelling cowards. The bottom line is that the game is looking much more solid and reliable; let's hope the console versions are shaping up in similar form.
I've seen Mafia II quite a few times now, and on each occasion the game has impressed me with its style and attention to detail. On PC the game is looking better than ever, to the extent that I even found myself admiring the cigarette truck that Vito and his pal Joey drive in the opening minutes of their assignment. There was nothing particularly notable about the situation - just two regular gangsters driving down the road - and yet it was obvious that loads of effort had gone into the vehicle model: as I drove down the road the wooden slats on the side of the truck rattled, while the tarpaulin slung over the front of the bed swung back and forth. I got so caught up in checking out these touches that I ended up driving too slowly, resulting in a telling off from Joey. "You drive like my ****ing grandma, you know that?".

[bacaljenje pasulja]trsh, trsh, trsh, trsh[/bacanje pasulja]Valjda ce promeniti onaj ruzni krtacki nisan!:d
Umrecu do avgusta! Jedva cekam demo!
Jel ce pomoci ako uzmem samo novu graf. na konfiguraciji iz potpisa? Ovo zelim da igram sa uzivanjem bez problema sa zahtevnoscu:type:

Pitanje: I have a question… Will i (the player) lose the remaining ammo if i reload???
Denby: Yes you will, as much as this feature was a nice little realistic vibe in Mafia 1 it’s something that just isn’t conducive to accessible gameplay and ultimately a fun experience. When we focus tested the game (and trust me 1000′s of people have looked at it) we found people didn’t understand it and then found it frustrating this way, so it was changed.
Pitanje: I didn’t get it… is that a yes or a no?
Denby: No, it was cut after focus testing
Pitanje: will i be able to put pedestrians in trunks or will it be just during mission?
Denby: You cannot put pedestrians in trunks in the open world but there is certainly missions where this takes place
All, please stop me if you feel I am entering spoiler territory, I will be careful
Pitanje: How about restaurants? will Vito be able to order food? How about the speed limiter in cars? Also, will cars run out of gas? Are there gas stations? Sorry if i’m annoying i just really want to know… short, concise answers will do
Denby: Vito can order food and drinks in eateries throughout the city, these are used to recharge his health back to full.
There is a speed limiter in cars, much like Mafia 1, although this has the new added feature of actually adjusting to speed limit of the road you are on, so if you go on the freeway it limits at 60…
And gas, yes your car can run out of gas and yes there are gas stations to fuel your vehicle if it runs out.
Oh and also there are car washes to clean your vehicle, as it will get dirty with all that driving.
Pitanje: I’d like to know if you can give a solid number (or a close one ) to how many “vehicles” (cars and trucks) will be in the game. I’ve been baffled, because Jack hinted in the 70s whilst only a little over 40 have been seen thus far.
Denby: I can’t I am afraid without counting them, and I am not going to do that…I know it’s more than 50 and probably less than 70. Coolest thing with the cars is that you can upgrade and change your vehicles yourself so the combinations and changes are pretty large. You can end up driving something that is faster and more badass than anything else you’ve seen in the city, that stuff ain’t cheap though.
Pitanje: Is the game gonna be like in the first game where its just story from beginning til the end ?? No free roaming in the “campaing” ???
Like in the other games like GTA where u select for yourself when u want to start a mission/side mission whenever you want ??
Denby: So Mafia II is very much like Mafia 1, it’s not a sandbox game that’s the bottom line. It’s an epic cinematic experience where players are the central character in this beautiful story.
That said it is set in an open world which has interactive elements that support the players gameplay, weapons, health system, police systems, vehicles to name some stuff all require stuff within that open world.
So the bottom line, the storyline is linear with little to no choice but that way we can deliver a greater and experience with better pacing and immersion than something that is truly sandbox
Pitanje: During the 40′s half, will it just snow or should we expect other weather conditions as wel
Denby: The 40′s section of the game is set against the snowy backdrop. From a story telling perspective it’s really nice to use things such as the weather and time of year to really reflect the characters emotions and motivations at this point.
At the point where the game starts Vito is a in a bad place in his life, he’s broke, injured out in the war, his father has died and left the family in a load of debt…it’s not good…
So the bleak snowy backdrop reflects this well, the same way we us sunny nice day as well…
It’s all about creating a perfect mood and atmosphere for the story to work in.
Pitanje: Do convertible tops go up and down (it would be odd to be in a roadster in the rain) and do windsheild wipers move and do headlights turn on at the turn of night? Are they manual (that would be quite a chore) or are they instilled by the weather/day-night and operate automatically?
Denby: Convertibles – no up and down. The traffic changes though so you don’t see these on the road in the rain with there tops down…
Window wipers – can’t remember off the top of my head, would need to check that.
Something I don;t have time to do right now
Headlights – are automatic, you are right it would be chore.
