Evo sta se desava na polju TFT-ova:
http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20080702VL201.html
"The LCD panel industry's transition toward the 16:9 aspect is unstoppable, according to DisplaySearch who predicts that the widescreen format will have a 90% penetration of the notebook panel market and 67% of the monitor panel market by 2010.
"In the near future, panel makers will take necessary phase-out tactics on existing 16:10 LCD panels in order to drive the market to 16:9 panels. Panel makers did it for square panels, and they know how to do it again," said DisplaySearch's David Hsieh, vice president for the Greater China market. "Notebook PC and LCD monitor product planners and marketers must plan for the transition now to assure a smooth roll-out of products over the next four years and sufficient panel availability."
DisplaySearch said the transition may confuse consumers and leave IT managers unenthusiastic, since they will be faced with a 16:9 transition shortly after managing the transition to 16:10 widescreen.
But panel makers are bent on promoting the 16:9 format, as it would maximize their production efficiency.
Kuang-Lang Chen, vice president of TFT-business R&D center at Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT), has pointed out that a 5G substrate can be cut into 15 units of 15.4-inch panels in the 16:10 aspect ratio, but the same substrate can produce 18 units if it is cut into 15.6-inch 16:9 panels."
