There will be no mercenaries or followers like in D2 and D3 or any similar launch system, maybe in the future.
Normal, magical, and rare items will be tradeable, but not legendary or unique items. The most interesting thing will be to find a good rare base to add the legendary power that we want.
The best items to equip will always be the only ones, by far.
Unique items will be very rare, it is estimated that we will get less than 10 per season for average players.

Gold will be the default currency and is designed to be valuable. Although the community will always end up finding the most comfortable currency.
There are no plans to have competitive rankings for the release of the game.
Clans are just a list of friends to easily connect with, there are no special features for launch clans.
Diablo IV is designed to maintain a sense of solitude. It will not force itself into multiplayer unless it is intentional.
The events of the world will concentrate more players in the same place that will be able to participate without even making a group, but when finished, the idea is that each one continues on their own.
There is a Social tab with which you can see nearby players and ask them to play in a group, but they reiterate that it will be something that must be started manually.
There will be no server regions, everyone will be able to play together. The servers with the best connection will be chosen in case of playing in a group.
There will be no attribute-specific improvements on items. That is to say, it will not be possible to try to improve one in particular, but there will be a random change of attributes as in the mystique of Diablo III.
