...ne bih se slozio. Ako bude 6950=5870(a za sad ovi rezovi tako nagovestavaju), onda ce se verovatno pojaviti po ceni od 5870... kako u evropi tako i kod nas...Nemoj pisati cifre za evropu jer nama to apsolutno nista ne znaci.

What'll be interesting to see is what games the reviewers use to compare. If they use games that are heavily 5870 favored, Cayman might not look great - however, if they show games where the 5870 struggled and 480/580 excelled, its possible Cayman looks amazing. Of course, this will show who's biased to who...
TL;dr - 3dMark and other benches are optimized for VLIW-5 and VLIW-4 isn't optimized yet, and so 3dMark isnt representative of Cayman performance yet. Where Cayman will shine and probably pull ahead is in DX11 games where DirectCompute and Tessellation is necessary. Ultimately, the suite/games tested will determine whether the 6970 looks like a big improvement. What's most important though is comparing it to the 480/580/570 and seeing if it is a more consistent performer relative to those cards than the 5870.

"I really enjoy three things: compute shaders, tessellation shaders and draw/create contexts separation," Shishkovtsov says. "The major thing that can up the performance is the compute shaders. Today, games spend the majority of the frame doing the various kinds of post-processing. The easy route to extract some performance is to rewrite that post-processing via compute. "Even the simple blurs can be almost twice as fast. For example we've rewritten our depth-of-field code, to greatly enhance quality while still maintaining playable frame-rate. [In Metro 2033] all the 'organic' things like humans are tessellated and monsters use real displacement mapping, to greatly enhance visuals."

Sto se tice die size, odnosa sa GF110 i slicno, tacnog broja SP... bez problema su mogli da naprave Cayman nesto vecim (ali i dalje mnogo manjim od GF110), samim tim brzim, i ubedljivo najjacim GPU-om današnjice. Procenili su da im to nije potrebnoVidecemo vec zasto su to odlucili, i da li im je odluka na mestu.
