Folks who want to take control of version changes in Windows 10 set those advanced options to (1) force Microsoft to wait until a new version is declared “Current Branch for Business,” then (2) after the version has hit CBB, to wait an additional 365 days before upgrading to the new version, (3) hold off on cumulative updates until 30 days after they’re sent out the Windows Update chute, and (4) overriding all of that, hold off on all updates — cumulative updates and version changes — for 35 days.
Except, golly, Microsoft hasn’t followed any of those settings.
Exactly right and people continue to reward Microsoft by continuing to use Windows 10 and encourage others to switch to it. They prey on their customers and their customers reward them for it.
So long as people continue to try to live with Windows 10, MS will continue to do this and it will only continue to get worse. IMO, if you use Windows 10, you’re kind of part of the problem because the message you’re sending to Microsoft is “I’m fine with this! Prey on me all you want!” Microsoft will continue to oblige you as they have absolutely no reason to change so long as those people continue to support these actions by using Windows 10.
That’s it in a nutshell. They will continue to get away with this indefinitely so long as people are convinced that using Windows has to be this way now and being treated like this is acceptable. It isn’t. Not by anyone, corporation or not.
Expect this to continue so long as people continue to accept and support this.

Thurrott's Brad Sams reports that Microsoft is tapering off development behind "several" of Windows 10's included apps. It's unclear exactly which apps will be impacted, but it's easy to see how something like News or Weather, whose functions can be easily replicated on the web, could be on the chopping block.

Microsoft Could Retire Several Windows 10 Apps
Thurrott writes that stocks and weather apps coming with Windows 10 could be the first victims, though there might be several other names on Microsoft’s blacklist, including Mail and Calendar. On the other hand, it’s not known if these could get the ax as well because they “have a higher priority because of their usage,” the report says.
