u pravu si, zaboravio na to... mada, generalno, nisam to hteo da kažem - više sam mislio na running in our machines DX11 hw :D
 
Da, Windows 7 podržava DX11.

Legitreviews je imao sneak peek u performanse Evergreen-a, tessellation i High Definition Ambient Occlusion testove. Ve'inu toga smo već videli na prezentacijama.

Sjajno, posebno sam impresioniran svim igrama koje je najavio Mr Robison, a koje koriste DX11 mogućnosti. Za sada ih ima 0, ali će mo ubrzo dobiti Dirt 2 preview.
 
Displacement mapping zaista lepo radi preko tesslation-a. Videste li onaj polycount:zgran:
 
Da, hardverska teselacija je chudo. Mada josh uvek ne znam kako ce to da bude u praksi.
 
TruForm je u ono malo igara gde je podrzan radio pristojno. Cini mi se da se najveca razlika videla u Morrowindu.

Poenta je da se teslacija sad, izmedju ostalog, koristi i za diplacement mapping i cini mi se, iz onog videa, da fino radi. Mada treba sacekati i videti kako to funkcionise u nekom real world scenariju:)

Ono sto mi je isto kul je compute shader. Da li NV moze da uradi implementaciju physx-a preko compute shader-a? Time bi omasovili physx, a ATi ne bi mogao da sabotira ko do sad:d heheh

P.S. true form je, koliko se secam, bio samo neka vrsta "mesh smooth-a". Tesslation je ipak nesto vise:)

In the absence of anything official we can start dreaming of an Evergreen Q4 while contemplating some pictures that are claimed to be of an AMD DirectX 11-supporting graphics card. Seen below bearing an all-black version of the Radeon HD 4770 reference cooler, the card boasts dual DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, is CrossFireX-ready, has memory chips on both sides suggesting it has at least 1GB of GDDR5 VRAM, and requires extra power via one 6-pin PCIe plug.

By the looks of it, this one is a lower mid-range product, possibly even the successor of the Radeon HD 4770. The card's specs and performance are unknown so the overall picture is still a blur but it's likely we won't have to be 'confused' for too long as there are two more months to go until Windows 7's release and AMD will launch its DX11 line-up before then.

AMD Lists Out Cypress Technologies, Tentative Branding?
In a release to its AIB partners, AMD listed out the key features of its high performance GPU in the Evergreen family, codenamed "Cypress". While not getting into the GPU specifications, it lists out the key technologies the GPUs support. It comes as no surprise that AMD will name Cypress-XT and Cypress-Pro as Radeon HD 5870 and Radeon HD 5850, a model number scheme that's been running for the past two generations. While product launches, and (p)reviews keep us busy in September, retail availability can be expected only in October, just in time for that of Windows 7.

Radeon HD 5870 Aggressively Priced: Report

According to a fresh report by Donanim Haber, AMD's next performance graphics accelerator, the Radeon HD 5870, codenamed "Cypress" is expected to be aggressively priced, at US $299. At that price, it intends to be highly competitive against GeForce GTX 285 from NVIDIA. The secret-sauce behind the price could be the 40 nm fab process on which the GPU is being built, which allows upping transistor counts while maintaining significantly smaller die-sizes compared to 55 nm.

There is a great deal of uncertainty surrounding the specifications of the GPU, including what level of performance with existing application could it end up offering. Some sources, such as ChipHell, which are one of the first to leak pictures of components related to various Evergreen family products claim the Cypress GPU to have an almost 100% increase in stream processor counts compared to RV770, while others remain conservative expecting it to be around 50%. With this kind of a pricing, Cypress could trigger market-wide changes in GPU pricing, if it ends up with a good price/performance ratio at $299.

Cypress is expected to be launched on 22 September, close to two weeks after the company unveils the Evergreen family of DirectX 11 compliant GPUs on September 10. Market availability is expected in October. In related news from the same report, the enthusiast-grade accelerator that uses two of these GPUs, codenamed "Hemlock", is expected to be out in November.
 
Radeon HD 5870 Aggressively Priced: Report

Pa ovo je bilo i ocekivano, zasto bi menjali nesto sto daje rezultate. Dodatna 4 meseca velikog pritiska na NVidiju. Naravno, ovo se jos moze i produziti, ako se GT300 ne pojavi u prodaji pocetkom 2010. godine.

Jos ako RV830 i RV840 pristignu (ili jos gore, prestignu) GT200 sa performansama, sa cenama koje ce verovatno biti oko 120-150e, poslednji kvartal bi za NV mogao da bude daleko gori od prethodnih (koji su takodje bili losi).

Jos jedna stvar koja se uklapa u onu pricu od gore. Neko ce reci da je Ati tako i prosle godine plasirao laznu pricu o broju shadera, ali setite se da se prica o pravom broju shadera pojavila barem dve nedelje pre predstavljanja RV770, a ako ce 10. Septembra otkriti RV870, ovo bi moglo da bude to. Doduse 1200 shadera vise niko ne pominje osim mene :d

Pa da, ali obicno kad se kaze 'more than 2 TERAFLOPS' to je tek nesto vise od 2. Da je preko 2,7 onda bi verovatno rekli 'close to 3 TERAFLOPS' :)
 
A kad se klokne i sva 3 TERAFLOPS-a :) .
