S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl

Dobar je onaj mod "stalker skies" ali nisam primetio razliku kad sam ubacio mod "fload_32".Stalker stvarno izaziva strah narocito kad se stave sluske i ugasi svetlo :-devil-: Citao sam o clear sky,deluje zanimljivo,videcemo u prvoj cetvrtini '08.
 
Clear Sky impresije sa E3, od prije 5 mjeseci.

First off, the graphics looked amazing and nothing like the original Stalker title. It truly looked as if the Stalker franchise had suddenly jumped three to five years on the graphics evolution chart. Instead of the bland character design and bulky, awkward animation of the first title, Clear Sky had the kind of fluid, detailed graphics you’d expect for a visceral shooter in today’s gaming world. The GSC guys gave me an opportunity to play Clear Sky, and I was even more impressed. Quite simply, this was the kind of game that I was hoping for with the first Stalker. Shadow of Chernobyl had an intriguing story and a setting with tons of potential, but the graphics and gameplay just never came together for me.

Clear Sky is different. Much different. The game is actually a prequel to Shadow of Chernobyl. The story follows the first group of Stalkers to reach the Zone of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, and the game promises to answer some of the mysteries of the first game. Clear Sky will have 15 new levels and all new maps and environments of the Zone for players to explore (the demo took me through one section of the game, and it looked spectacular). There’s also vastly improved A.I. for NPCs, especially enemy soldiers, which was also on glorious display during the demo. It appears GSC has taken every element that was lacking in the first Stalker game and improved them.

The graphics are the most noticeable improvement; the development team added a new version of the game engine with X-ray 1.5 and added normal mapping graphics technology along with an improved DirectX 9 renderer that provides parallax bump, soft particles, depth of field, motion blur, and eye adaptation effects. Honestly, this Stalker title doesn’t even look like the same game (check out the screenshots below, which are from actual gameplay).

And here’s the kicker: Clear Sky isn’t even an expansion pack; it’s a stand-alone sequel! I asked the GSC guys how in the world they pulled this off, considering it took them around six years to complete Shadow of Chernobyl, which was released earlier this year, and Clear Sky is tentatively scheduled for early 2008. Oleg Yavorsky, public relations director for GSC, modestly told me the development team has been working pretty tirelessly on Clear Sky, and the effort definitely comes through in the demo. I still have no idea how the team was able to make so many advancements and get a full stand-alone sequel ready in such a short time.

After bugging the GSC guys and playing the demo for far too long, I wrapped up my visit with Clear Sky. Before I left to move on to the next game at the Barker Hanger exhibit hall, Yavorsky whipped out a bottle of premium Russian vodka and asked if I wanted to do a shot. Not wanting to be impolite, I accepted, even though I have the world’s lowest tolerance for alcohol. The vodka was pretty good, but it burned, and compounded the problem by declining the chaser, if only to continue my charade as a serious drinker. Firing a large shot of high octane vodka on an empty stomach in the heat of midday in Southern California probably wasn’t the best idea, but hey, it’s E3, right?

Pa to znaci da je vec tada bilo u pripremi nesto vezano uz Clear Sky. Konkretno, radi se o grupi Stalkera koja je prva usla u zonu. Pretpostavljam da je za izbacivanje tog dijela takodjer kriv idi*t pod imenom Dean Sharp, clan THQ izdavacke kuce?

Oko 20-30 sati. Obavezno ubaci koji mod. Redux recimo.
 
meni je nakon instalacije redux moda i sky ... slika totalno otisla u neke tamne/zute tonove ... deinstalacija modova (brisanje) nije pomoglo ...
Ima li leka ili moram ponovo ;( reinstalirati celu igru ?
 
Redux mod 1.02 je zadnja verzija.
This mod aims to make the game of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. more enjoyable by promoting realism, tactics, and longevity. Accomplished through extensive tweaking of default files, and various items added to the game, Redux is an extensive overhaul of the GSC PC game designed to please both the hardcore, and the casual, gamer.

The largest changes to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. come in combat, where firefights are now frighteningly realistic. Weapons are more powerful, enemies are more tactful, and bullets fly true-to-life. If you're the stealthy type, an array of integrated and attachable silencers that mask your attack from the foe will come in handy, as will the ability to equip them to many more weapons than normal. Armor will be your best friend, but will degrade more and more rapidly as you take fire, and you're no longer limited to the standard array: 9 new pieces of body armor have been added as a means to protect your miserable hide from the onslaught for another minute. Even artifacts will play a larger part in your survival, as you quickly realize your belt only has room for so many enhancements.

Even the economy is against you as you struggle against the Zone itself, with stalkers paying an all-time low for jobs offered, and just as ready to stab you in the back as to pay up. Weapons in the Zone have become little more than pieces of scrap, and traders are quickly getting sick of paying top dollar for old equipment. Enemies, too, have taken to using less ammunition, and you'll be hard-pressed to keep your handful of bullets in your pocket. Your one saving grace is in artifacts, what every stalker is here for. Traders will be glad to pay out many rubles for a high-grade artifact, and it's very much worth your time keeping an eye out for them as you attempt to regain your memory.

In recent years, the area around Chernobyl has gone from unstable to volatile, and anomalies that once agitated stalkers now kill them with deadly randomness. Invisible thanks to a new wave of radiation, traders have taken to stocking special radiation detectors to combat the growing threat.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Redux aims to make the Zone into the place we all wanted it to be, but be careful what you wish for, stalker. You just might get it.

Samo izbrisi gamedata folder. Jesi siguran da su modovi u pitanju?
 
Instalirao sam Redux mod, neki "sky mod", i float32 zadnji ... takodje zadnji DX 9.0c ... ali sada me izbacuje u Windows nakon nekoliko minuta igre... ocito da se neki modovi ne trpe.
Mogu li float i Redux da idu zajedno ?
Je li bitan redosled instalacije ?
 
Float i Redux mogu ici zajedno. U tom slucaju redoslijed nije bitan.

Nisam ja eksperimentirao sa svim modovima, jer za to treba puno vremena. Probaj stalker skies i redux, ali prvo stavi redux pa skies. Ultra_graphic_mode nisam probao, ne svidja mi se pretjerani bloom.
Bilo bi dobro da svaki mod pregledas, jer neki gameplay modovi kao sto je Redux sadrze subfolder weathers, a taj subfolder mijenja nebo, rotaciju oblaka, vrijeme... I postoji mogucnost da ce doci do konflikta sa drugim modovima koji mijenjaju grafiku i sadrze isti takav subfolder. Ali prvo probaj.
 
kad se zakuca ... izbaci neku gresku u "taskmgr.exe"
ovo mi se nije desavalo pre pathovanja sa 1.004 ...
radi li vama doticni patch kako valja ?

UH! Znaci nije do hardware-a, prepadoh se :D I meni ukopa igrica i nema nazad u win osim "magicnog dugmeta" tj. restarta. A taj taskmgr.exe mi se pojavi samo kad pritisnem ctrl+alt+delete u zelji da pokrenem task da bi ubio proces od igrice ali.. uzalud ... ima li ikakvog resenja za to? Inace igram je u 1024x768 a sto se tice detalja sve je setovano na full. Aha i uradio sam patch igre pocev od 10001 preko 10003 do 10004 i uvek isto.
 
Igromir 2007 - Clear Sky report:

As you all know, the Igromir 2007 convention (2-4th of November) is currently being held in Moscow. GSC have their own booth there, dedicated purely to STALKER: Clear Sky.

And they don't pay any attention to the warning signs (whole sign is in Ukrainian, warning aganst radiation and that the area is off-limits).

He was trying to penetrate past the defenses to the computers with the game, so his aggressiveness is understandable.

The demo-version of the game was an arena-type map, except it was outdoors. The people living in the booth were the most eager to playtest it (of course they were! This version of the demo was made AFTER they departed for Moscow!).

The graphics in the demo were not bad at all. (too bad they didn't allow people to take proper screencaps)

The game has a new very interesting effect; when you reload, your viewpoint focuses on the weapon, and the objects in the distance become blurred to simulate you being focused on the reloading of your weapon. I hope you can see it well in this screen.

The enemies learned how to throw grenades. Despite there being a yellow warning icon that warns you, it's still very unpleasant.

And it's pretty apparent that the intellect of the AI has risen significantly. On this arena level, we had to kill just four bandits.

Still, no one was able to kill more than two. Not me, not Oleg Yavorskiy, no one else.

In the talks between us, Oleg Yavosrkiy also revealed the following:
-Like Clear Sky, patch 1.1 will be released Q1 Spring 2008 (although that does not mean they won't be released at the same time). The developers do not want to mention any particular dates, from fear of making the same mistake as with the realease of the original Stalker.
-There will be many more areas and locations, and there will be many paths to and through them.
-Female characters are not officially planned, although it is possible that they might appear over the course of the developement.
-There will be several new weapons, the old weapons will be finished with the experiences of modders in mind.
-There will be more new unique weapons. It will be possible to upgrade them very deeply in all categories by the player. Finding such weapons will be much more difficult.
-The devs will consider seperating different rounds' effects on the armor and body. (it seems the presented 7.62x39mm rounds in FMJ and Hollow-Point impressed some people)
-The devs are considering adding vehicles into multiplayer.
-Stalker-Attributes are being worked on.
-Beside the aforementioned use of grenades, NPC's have become much more intelligent; they coordinate and work very well in groups, interact in groups, and with the player.

Since Thrusday, the following has been added:
-Patch 1.0005 is in the final testing stages. If no major problems with it are discovered, it will be available very soon.
-One of the new locations, the Swamp, will be absolutely huge.
-The engine has had a mass of modifications, almost to the point of being completely overhauled. The lighting has been almost completely overhauled, and volumetric light has been added. The engine will support DX9 and DX10. The graphics really do look great.
-The AI now has day and night routines.
-The nights will be darker.
-The second trailer for Clear Sky will soon become availabe. It really is a great trailer, I recommend it for everyone.
-It seems that the game will finally have normal textures for the weapons. In other words, the Kalashnikov won't be green anymore.
-The variety of animations has been greatly expanded.
-Since smart terrain for the AI has been expanded, now the world can be physically interacted with.
-You can't kill Strelok! But we will be able to see him in the game, and the storyline is directly tied to him (again).
-The anomalies, artifacts, and their detectors will be greatly varied. For example, the detector will be a device that is held in one hand, while the other holds a small firearm, like a handgun. Long-barreled weapons such as rifles cannot be held at the same time as the detector.
-The developers have also recieved the following materials and suggestions.

Developer Diary from DTF for October.

Games are developed in slow stealth-steps. It seems, everything is very gradual, almost still, however, looking back, one realizes that the turtle is slowly, with the tenacity of a tank, catching up to speedy Achilles.

October brought much new to Clear Sky. It is not only work on gameplay and the engine. It is such a slow monotonous process that there is little desire to talk about new revolutionary changes. Therefore, we will leave programming and game design aside. Let us get to those things that are visible here and now.

The most notable change is the implementation of smart covers and new battle animations. A "smart cover" is a kins of "smart object", used during battles. They give characters information regarding the proper use of covers, and to the player they give a fresh experience (try getting a bot in cover while he is shooting with one hand, without looking - not so easy anymore). At the same time, the ability to hold a weapon with a single hand, switch hands, combine the use of a pistol with, for instance, an anomaly detector, expand the number of animations and behaviours.

Fights have become more interesting also because the AI now uses grenades. We have listened to complaints received after the release of the original STALKER. As a result, we now hear more swearing from players during battle scenes - the difficulty level has been raised considerably. The player can no longer camp in one place and pick off naive characters.

The development of the new patch has taken more than usual, even by our standards, due to hard work on Clear Sky. The changes have mostly dealt with the multiplayer side of the game. The game is yet to be balanced for the patch with the promised freeplay.

Autumn is the time for harvest, for review. For farmers it is time for toil, for game developers - the time for game shows. The end of October has been marked for us with "Game Territory", where we presented "STALKER: Clear Sky" and ran multiplayer matches with the original game. All in all, everything went fine, especially considering that this is in may aspects a non-game exhibition, and few of our colleagues have taken part.

"Igromir" has been more challenging for our PR department. We started in advance, but the last preparations ended up being made as usual - at the site. But this is a subject for another diary, for November.

To sto ne mozesh da vidish i odigrsh krizu onako kako su ljudi zamislili, ne znaci da treba da pljujesh po njemu i da poredish sa necim kao sto je stalker, bagovit, mracan smoran, ali ipak dalje od toga da je bzw.... Ja sam ga odigrao, sve je to lepo, ali da poredish babe i zhabe, to vec nije u redu.....
