THQ je i zvanično ugašen. Održana je aukcija na kojoj su prodate sledeći delovi ove kompanije i/ili franšize:
Sega je kupila Relic
Koch Media je kupila Volition
CryTek je kupio Homefront franšizu
Take-Two je kupio projekat Evolve
Ubisoft je kupio THQ Montreal i prava na South Park.

Na žalost, za Vigil Games nije bilo zainteresovanih i zaposleni su dobili otkaze a studio se gasi. Šteta za Darksiders, odličan serijal.

After its bid to sell off its assets to Clearlake Capital was denied earlier this month, bankrupt video game publisher THQ has officially been dissolved.


Following an auction for its various studios and game properties on Tuesday, THQ CEO Brian Farrell and president Jason Rubin sent a note to THQ employees detailing the fate of its myriad assets. The letter, first obtained by the video game website Kotaku, noted that the company was able to attract higher bids by selling its assets piece-meal rather than selling the majority of the company to a single buyer as was originally planned.

- Pending approval from a U.S. bankruptcy court, the letter confirmed the following acquisitions which are expected to be completed by the end of the week:



- SEGA is purchasing Relic Entertainment, developer of the “Company of Heroes” and “Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War” games.

- Koch Media has agreed to purchase Volition, the studio behind the popular and controversial “Saints Row” series, along with the publishing rights to the “Metro” franchise.

- Crytek, a German developer already working on the THQ property “Homefront 2,” acquired the rights to the “Homefront” franchise.

- Take-Two Interactive (Nasdaq: TTWO), the parent company of 2K Games and Rockstar Entertainment, agreed to buy an unnamed project from Turtle Rock Studios, codenamed “Evolve.”

- Ubisoft (EPA: UBI) has acquired the THQ Montreal studio and the rights to publish “South Park: The Stick of Truth.”

“Some assets, including our publishing businesses and Vigil [Vigil Games, the studio behind THQ’s celebrated “Darksiders” series], along with some other intellectual properties are not included in the sale agreements,” the letter said of THQ’s assets that remain unaccounted for. “They will remain part of the Chapter 11 case. We will make every effort to find appropriate buyers, if possible.”

THQ said that a "small number" of staff will remain at THQ’s headquarters through Jan. 25 to facilitate the transition as the company formally relinquishes its assets. Employees at the offices being acquired are now in the hands of their new owners, though the letter warned that “there will likely be some positions that will not be needed under the new ownership.”

Those working for the unclaimed studios, meanwhile, have had their positions removed. And as the gaming site Polygon observed, many have already taken to Twitter to announce their unemployment.

For those still tentatively employed, THQ said that they “should receive notice this week or early next week if the new owners intend to extend employment."

“It has been our privilege to work alongside the entire THQ team,” the letter ended. “While the company will cease to exist, we are heartened that the majority of our studios and games will continue under new ownership. We were hoping that the entire company would remain intact, but we expect to hear good news from each of the separate entities that will be operating as part of new organizations.”
 
Prosto mi je neverovatno da niko nije bio zainteresovan za Vigil tj Darksiders. :/ Prava šteta za THQ.
 
Na žalost, za Vigil Games nije bilo zainteresovanih i zaposleni su dobili otkaze a studio se gasi. Šteta za Darksiders, odličan serijal.

Dok su jos na okupu nek se organizuju, naprave nesto dobro i postave na kickstarter i izdavac im ni ne treba.
 
Ček a šta je sa Metro Last light, zar nije izdavač trebao da bude THQ?!

Ne mogu da verujem da niko nije kupio Vigil!?! Koja glupost...
 
Znaci Sega sad ima pravo na Warhammer fransizu, nadam se da ce nastaviti sa tim serijalom, sve igre su bile super do sada.
 
Mislim da Vigil čak i nije bio na aukciji, već je uključen u Chapter 11 bankrotstvo (verovatno su hteli da zadrže ono što vredi i da pokušaju tako da opstanu), a pošto nije odobrena kupovina kompanije, već prodaja u delovima, Vigil je izvisio zajedno sa THQ.

Edit: Sada vidim da je na vikipediji dodat jedan interesantan detalj:

In a posting on Twitter, Platinum Games' CEO Atsushi Inaba expressed interest in acquiring the Darksiders franchise from THQ.[2]

Mada za PC igrače ovo ne znači ništa.

Edit 2: i Atari USA je podneo zahtev za Chapter 11 bankrotstvo. Tužan dan za gejmere.

Koliko ja znam Games Workshop je izdavao prava za svaku igru posebo. Dawn of War ima prava dok god franšiza postoji kao RTS, ostalo ne vuče ništa.

Iz Platinum Games-a su ponudili svim radnicima Vigila posao ako žele da dođu kod njih.
 
Izgleda da cena nije odgovarala... nazalost. Ode moj season pass za darksiders II :S:

Ima i dobrih strana, postao si svedok novije istorije. Kada sve to bude bilo retro možeš da kažeš

Darksiders I ---------- je bio UBICA.... znaci imao je i pecat :)
ThQ The Punisher je bio Ubica 2.... ako se slazete samnom .... zao mi je bilo koga ko je ostao bez posla
ali tu ajkule jedu male ribe... :-(
 
Najviše se briem za Company of Heroes 2, jeste da je igra skoro gotova, ali šta li će biti sa studijom. Jeste da bi bilo logično, da takav tim opstane, ali poznato je da su menadžeri u takvim korporacijama gamad, koji lako mogu da ih raspuste. Onda ne bi mao ko da ispravlja propuste i poboljšava igru ...

Dakle,ajde da razmislimo zašto niko nije kupio Vigil games?

Moja pretpostavka je da je početna cena bila previsoka.S druge strane ako nije reč o početnoj ceni onda su izdaci za Vigil games bili preveliki da bi se neko mučio da ih kupi.THQ je objavio da je do 5 novembra igra prodata u 1.5 miliona primeraka. Moguće je pretpostaviti da je sada brojka 2 miliona i više. Ako je npr cena bila 40$ to je 80 miliona ukupno,ili 60 miliona na 1.5mil primeraka u oktobru. S druge strane THQ je javio da prodaja nije pokrila troškove,tj da su 500 000 u minusu

Dakle ako 60-80 miliona ode na troškove Vigil games-a samo za jednu igru,nije ni čudo što niko neće da ih kupi i rizikuje da se npr. Darksiders 3 ne proda dovoljno...
 
Nema koristi, nema interesa.

Kaže se,nema profita,nema interesa.

Sad mi pade na pamet još jedna stvar. Od svih razvojnih timova,Vigil games je bio najdalje od objavljivanja nove igre,jer je već izašao Darksiders 2,još jedan razlog zašto niko nije hteo da ih kupi.
 
Samo da mi COH ne diraju...
 
Najviše se briem za Company of Heroes 2, jeste da je igra skoro gotova, ali šta li će biti sa studijom. Jeste da bi bilo logično, da takav tim opstane, ali poznato je da su menadžeri u takvim korporacijama gamad, koji lako mogu da ih raspuste. Onda ne bi mao ko da ispravlja propuste i poboljšava igru ...

Ne bi trebalo da bude problema sa CoH, Sega je kupila i razvojni tim i licencu, tako da će se oni starati o CoH 2. Istresli su velike pare da bi nešto *****ali.

Ne znam sta se svi tripuju da ce da pogase neke studijske projekte, tj. skoro gotove igre koje su u debeloj beta fazi pred izlazak... ako vec uskoro i nisu stekle gold status. Naravno da ce te igre da izadju, samo ce prava izdavaca biti promenjena i igrom slucaja bice to neki drugi intro umesto onog THQ koji smo do sad vidjali...
 
Inače zanimljiva stvar da je za Relic/THQ u igri bio i Zenimax (id, Bethesda, Arkane), oni su stali na $26.3 miliona.

Sad mi pade na pamet još jedna stvar. Od svih razvojnih timova,Vigil games je bio najdalje od objavljivanja nove igre,jer je već izašao Darksiders 2,još jedan razlog zašto niko nije hteo da ih kupi.

Profit=korist. Nisam ni obraćao pažnju kako se kaže stručno, rekao sam to na svoj način. :d
 
Za relic je mozda i najbolja varijanta sega, koja se sasvim lepo ophodi prema total war franshizi, rts tesko opstaje na danasnjem trzistu... Pretpostavljam da cemo videti vise dlc-ova i to je to.... Ko zna mozda i neki homeworld jednog dana

Svima je zao izdavaca koji se sasvim solidno ophodio prema svojim developerima, ali nekoliko pogresnih koraka su imali u poslednjih par godina i to je to....

P.s. ne kostabrazvoj igre ala darksiders toliko, mnogo tu ima vise troskova van samog razvoja iggre koja puca na masovnu prodaju, troskovi marketinga i distribucije tralala, ali ocigledno da u thq menazdment je negde podbacio u celoj prici...

Ipak ima šanse barem za deo Vigil Games-a:

This morning, however, Crytek announced the opening of a new studio in Austin, Texas—their ninth, to be precise. Dubbed Crytek USA Corp., the Austin studio is Crytek’s very first studio in the U.S. and is being headed up by “David Adams and his team of 35 experienced developers”.



Who is David Adams? He was Vigil’s co-founder. Judging by a tweet made by THQ president, Jason Rubin, Crytek brought Abrams aboard along with a “core team” of Vigil employees. Rubin tweeted: “Great news for Vigil, at least the core team: http://goo.gl/LaQKt Thanks to Crytek for saving as much as they could of a fantastic team.”



Meanwhile, Adams stated in a press release: “I’m thrilled to be a part of the newest Crytek studio, which will boast some of the brightest development talent in the industry. The studio’s launch represents Crytek’s commitment to delivering diverse and high quality content to players everywhere.”



Crytek CEO, Chevat Yerli, stated: “Crytek has always enjoyed a special relationship with gamers and business partners in North America, so establishing a permanent presence in the US was a natural step. We are extremely excited about the work that we will be undertaking from our strategic new location in Austin, with David Adams and his team of 35 experienced developers. We believe our CryENGINE technology will enable the team we assemble to create unparalleled new gaming experiences.”



Congratulations to all at Vigil Games that were fortunate enough to be part of the Crytek acquisition.

Da budem iskren,neće mi biti žao i ako ne naprave Darksiders 3 i 4. Ne volim da igram ženske likove,a ni lika koji koristi samo pištolje. Žao mi je samo što priča nije završena...
