Zato ih i nema puno kod nas. Bas sam citao detaljan clanak o ovome prosle godine.
Cesto vidjam u nasim radnjama i marketima natpise pored Sharp televizora Made in Japan.

"In 1988 Sharp demonstrated the first active matrix full color full motion LCD panel. In 1991 Sharp’s Magohiro Aramoto introduced the first wall hanging television product, the Liquid Crystal Museum. Heilmeier’s dream had become a reality.
Several companies began investing in LCD technology in a big way. Sharp has been an industry leader since they first displayed their full color 14” in 1988. Since then other manufacturers, like Samsung, Hannstar, LG, Acer, BenQ, HP, Casio, Sony and Viewsonic (among many, many more!) have entered the fray. Sharp continues to be an industry standard,
but Samsung and Sony have also made compelling claim to the title."
Jedan post koji savrseno opisuje Sharpovu situaciju:
"A few years ago Sharp was one of the leaders in the LCD market.
They were so successful their production couldn't keep up with demand.
They started using third-party companies to provide components which in turn was used on some model lines. Those models suffered all kinds of issues and
Sharp became the "stay away" brand. There were a few models that came out of China or Taiwan and their inexperience or lack of quality control resulted in some problem. Unfortunately the bad press gave the impression Sharp was a brand to stay away from.
Samsung controls the majority of the LCD market and provide a large number of displays to other manufacturers. Because of the huge demand, their displays come from Japan, China and other countries. The monitors are assembled in a half dozen centres. There's bound to be some issues.
Sony used to be the king of the CRTs. They ride on that recognition to promote their LCDs. ( setih se valeriana odmah :d ) . Most folks will tell you that most of the Sony LCD line is no better than other mainstream manufacturers. Sharp and Sony have now teamed up to co-produce 10th generation LCD/LED displays."
