It was told to us this morning by an inside industry source that EVGA is closing its European operations and has fired its managing director, Hans-Wolfram Tismer who lead the operation's opening in 2005...

...It was also reported to us that EVGA had "dismissed its entire Taiwan motherboard team," and this would signal "no more motherboards coming from EVGA..."

Ovo za ploce sigurno nema veze sa NVidijom, ali ono prvo bi indirektno moglo da ima. I BFG-u je zatvaranje evropske kancelarije bio jedan od poslednjih poteza u nameri da se skresu troskovi. Naravno, ne mislim da ce EVGA zavrsiti kao oni, mislim da ce njih AMD prihvatiti kao partnera 😉

Inace, SemiAccurate je objavio da tim koji dizajnira ploce nije otpusten, vec da su sami otisli, iako se ne zna razlog. Ko bi znao sta je istina, iako je definitivno da se nesto desilo.

EVGA aims to expand its European presence

Californian graphics card and motherboard maker EVGA has announced its intention to intensify European operations and in that note proceeded with a restructure of EVGA Europe, letting of the division's chief Hans-Wolfram Tismer, in the process.

"EVGA is seen here in Europe mostly as premium brand. But we have so much more to offer," said EVGA founder, director and CEO Andrew Han. "Ultimately EVGA is about providing unique experience of product ownership and true sense of the belonging. We really believe in the strength of EVGA brand and we believe that over the coming months, more and more customers will see advantages and benefits of our products and services here in Europe starting with June re-launch of the EVGA Europe Step Up program."

Beside the Step Up offer, EVGA Europe has kicked off a Channel Partner Program and plans to introduce more community programs like Mods Rigs, EVGA Affiliate, EVGA Gaming, Folding@EVGA , EVGA's Loaner and EVGA Bucks, in the more or less near future.

In other news, EVGA will upgrade any customer of GeForce GTX 470 or GTX 480 and send them a replacement high-airflow bracket and vented backplate for them to convert their existing cards.

Bice veoma interesantno sta ce se dalje desavati. Bez maticnih ploca morace da se oslone prakticno iskljucivo na ono sto NVidia moze da ponudi, a tu bas i nije sjajna situacija trenutno. Margine su niske u svim klasama, i ako GF104 nesto ne promeni, nece im biti lako.

Pa verujem da hoce, ali nisam siguran da je tako lako zameniti kompletan (i ozbiljan) tim koji je otisao. Sumnjam da njima odgovaraju pocetnici koji ce u EVGA da se uce poslu. Doduse, mozda preuzmu ove sto odose iz DFI-ja 🙂

Ako neko prati šta se dešava sa Sapphire videćete da oni već neko vreme rade ploče koje izgledom obećavaju ali ima dosta problema koje bih ja nazvao dečijim bolestima ( pratim ono što pišu korisnici koji su ih kupili po forumima ) . Ati ima u poslednje vreme itekako dobre čipsete i mislim da Sapphire koristi priliku da unapredi ovaj segment svoje ponude . Ko zna možda uskoro Sapphire počne da ozbiljnije da utiče na izbore matične koje kupujemo .

Mislim da u Sapphire-u razmisljaju malo dugorocnije, i imaju u vidu neke stvari koje se lako zaboravljaju.

Ide Fusion, koji ce vrlo brzo prepoloviti, a na duge staze i unistiti prodaju najjeftinijih grafickih kartica. Gomila racunara moze da radi bez diskretne graficke karte, ali ni jedan ne moze bez maticne ploce 😉

Možda konačno neko počne praviti ozbiljne SFF ploče za AMD 😉. Mini-ITX + wireless ... nešto kao što Zotac radi za Intel platformu.

Sto je u nekoj varijanti za home PC biti stvarno ekstra opcija. Najiskrenije se nadam da ce konacno poceti da smanjuju PC i u gabaritima i u potrosnji.

Pa ... integruša će biti na procesoru 🙂. Imaju kojih pola godine da naprave nešto pametno u vezi ploča.
