Ne, Mental-ov ce biti iRay :)

Taj Quicksilver je novost, i da, kvalitet nije na nivou, no dobro...ima vremena:p
 
Za iRay negde videh da ide uz MR standalone...mrzelo me da proveravam, ceka se onaj u Max-u...:)

Nope; we had lots of problems with the ATI version - first we had the problem that it did not support OpenCL image objects - it does now on paper (still can't get it to work though), but it also refuses to compile the code (either that or the compiler crashes). Hopefully someday it will work

MR sa iRay-om ce biti 3ds2012 exkluziva ili ce moci da se potera i na 2011?
 
3ds Max 2012 ce tamo negde sledeceg proleca po obicaju, a iray ce biti sigurno za 2011, i bar do verzije 2008.

Odakle ti to? Mislim, neka ogranicenja ce verovatno postojati (motion blur npr), ali za ostalo? U svakom slucaju, i iRay ce kao VrayRT za sada sluziti prvenstveno za brze postavjanje scene, dok ce standardni render na CPU raditi posao kad se dodje do produkcije.
VrayRT mi je super stvar i odlicno radi (na CPU), olaksava posao prilicno pogotovo kad se imaju 2 monitora. Ono sto sad cekam je da vidim koji ce biti brzi kad je GPU u pitanju pa da najzad zamenim 8800GT.

By default, 3ds Max iray will always use all the valid processors (CPUs and CUDA enabled GPUs) it sees in your system. There are MaxScript calls to turn off processors if you want to benchmark, but in general you just don’t have to worry about it. If your scene (geometry + bitmaps) exceeds the memory on your GPU, iray just uses the remaining processors to finish the job.

A Quadro 5000 is actually 5X as fast for iray as a DUAL quad-core CPU (as we wanted to compare versus typical Max production machines) so that’s 10X a single quad core CPU on Win 7. Running on Windows XP would actually be a bit faster.

Ostaje standardno pitanje podrske za displacement / normal mape. No, to je vec smislenije kod produkcije, a kad je GPU render u pitanju, tu vec ima resenje:p

Da li je objavljeno kakva će biti podrška V-Ray RT za druge programe za koje postoji plug-in za obični V-Ray (npr. Sketchup i sl.)? Da li će postojati standalone verzija RT-a ili ne?

Pitam zato sto moje potrebe zadovoljava Sketchup sa vray-om i potom obradom u Ps-u (za archviz).
 
Zasad nista. Ono sto ce najpre izbaciti je RT za mayu.

Mozda se rese pa izbace i za Sketchup, ali izgleda nece uskoro.

Sve je to jos uvek na samom pocetku i proce neko vreme dok gpu renderi ne "porastu", mada su vec sad sasvim upotrebljivi u dosta situacija. Najveci problem je posle interaktivnog gpu rendera vratiti se na neki offline rendering engine, kada ovaj prvi ne moze da zavrsi poso' :)

Substance Procedural Textures

Achieve a vast range of look variations with a new library of up to 75 Substance procedural textures. These dynamic, resolution-independent textures have a tiny memory and disk space footprint, making them very good for exporting to games engines via the Allegorithmic Substance Air middleware offering; integration is currently provided for Unreal® Engine 3 game engine, Emergent’s Gamebryo game engine, and Unity. Alternatively, textures can be baked to bitmaps for use with certain renderers. Some examples of dynamically editable and animatable parameters are: brick distribution, surface aging, and mortar thickness in a brick wall; pupil size, eye color, and extent of veining in an eye texture; and the age, roughness, curb borders, and lane markings of a street texture.

PhysX Rigid-Body Dynamics

Create more compelling, dynamic rigid-body simulations directly in the 3ds Max viewport. The multi-threaded NVIDIA® PhysX® engine supports static, dynamic, and kinematic rigid bodies (the latter for rag doll simulations), and a number of constraints: Rigid, Slide, Hinge, Twist, Universal, Ball & Socket, and Gear. Animators can more quickly create a wider range of realistic dynamic simulations, and can also use the toolset for modeling: for example, creating a randomly placed landscape of rocks. Assigning physical properties – friction, density, and bounciness – is as simple as choosing from a set of initial preset real-world materials and tweaking parameters as required.

iray Photorealistic Renderer

Creating realistic images has never been easier with 3ds Max, using the newly integrated iray® rendering technology from mental images. Another major milestone in the Rendering Revolution, iray enables artists to set up their scene, press “render,” and get predictable, photo-real results without worrying about rendering settings­ just like a “point-and-shoot” camera. Artists can focus on their creative vision as they intuitively use real world materials, lighting, and settings to more accurately portray the physical world; iray progressively refines the image until the desired level of detail is achieved. iray works with standard multi-core CPUs. However, NVIDIA CUDA-enabled GPU hardware will significantly accelerate the rendering process.

E to je malko zeznuto...ja se jos uvek slabo snalazim, cekam neki tutorijal nemam vremena da sam provaljujem:) I pratim ovu temu:D
