Dame i gospodo, predstavljam vam novu igru od kreatora čuvene Penumbre. Kao što je poznato, Penumbra je jedna od retkih igara koja će vam uterati strah u kosti bez prolivene kapi krvi. Amnesia nastavlja gde je Penumbra stala i pokušaće da čitavo iskustvo horora pogigne na jedan novi, do sada neviđeni nivo. Ne znam za vas ali je meni ovaj teaser strašniji od bilo čega u Penumbra(ma).

Grafika može da prođe (al ne mora), zvuk je OK, mehanika je od ranije poznata a fizika se čini nešto bolja. Strah je amplificiran (mada ovo zavisi od individue do individue) i PO MENI je atmosvera za pozitivnu ocenu. Ko ne voli nek igra Krajsis, šta on zna :p

Koliko vidim planiraju da izbace i demo ove igre. Odlično.
Meni Penumbra nije bila strašna, i nije me nešto posebno ni oduševila, ali se nadam da će ovo biti bolje ("strašnije") odrađeno.

2. What can you tell us about the upcoming game Amnesia and how would you compare it to the Penumbra series gameplay/engine wise ? (please be detailed)
I’ll leave this question for Thomas, he spends a great deal of time with the design of the game and is properly the man to ask for this question.

Thomas: One could say that Amnesia is a sort of progression from Penumbra. Many of the core gameplay elements have been taken from Penumbra and then refined in Amnesia. This is stuff like the physical interaction system, the way which we design our levels, and so on. Anyone who has played Penumbra will feel right at home when starting Amnesia. What really makes Amnesia different from Penumbra gameplay wise (apart from story and settings) is were our focus have been this time. These are the main areas:

1) To make the player the protagonist. What this means is that the player should to the extent possible be in the shoes of the character he/she is playing as. We will not have any sort of cut scenes, there will be very little text feedback (like descriptions) and the player should be in control from start to finish with no time jumps or anything like that. We feel that this will increase the immersion and emotions experienced during gameplay.

2) Much more effort has been put on the graphics, in terms of details, quality and diversity. As we no longer have text comments that can enhance the environments we want the player to be able to get the feelings by themselves. When entering a room the mood should be apparent and work towards enhancing plot and atmosphere. So instead of the protagonist telling the player what they should think or feel towards something, it is up to the player to decide and hopefully forcing him/her to become more immersed in the game world.

3) To make a more streamlined experience where the player does not get stuck all the time on a puzzle or a gameplay element. We want to have difficulty in the game, but we are designing it in such a way that it should not make break the immersion. Whenever the player restarts from a save or gets stuck at some puzzle for too long, he/she will drift away from the game world and the quality of the experienced will be lessened. This means we are working very hard to get rid of these things and we do not want to throw in a puzzle just to lengthen gameplay time (something that we did in Penumbra).

Engine wise it is quite different and there many parts that have been rebuilt from the ground up. The Penumbra games uses a portal system to do occlusion culling (check what objects not to draw) that placed a heavy burden on the artists. In Amnesia we used a fully dynamic culling system based on a technique called Coherent Hierarchical Culling, which does not give any extra work for the artists and give them more time to make nice graphics instead of worrying about performance issues. Another example is the shadows that were stencil (shadow volumes) based in Penumbra but is done with shadow maps in Amnesia. There are all kinds of new effects added as well, like Screen Space Ambient Occlusion, proper decals, etc. This means that Amnesia will not support as many graphic cards as Penumbra did, but we felt that we had to improve and were forced to draw the line somewhere. Still, Amnesia will be a lot less demanding than most commercial 3D games released these days. If you are looking for minimum requirements, then I am afraid it is too early for that as proper testing on that front has not started yet.

3.....For Amnesia the puzzles can probably be summed up as being a bit easier, it has been a design goal for the game to be a bit more streamlined in the experience. With Penumbra it was quite clear that as you encountered a puzzle, you had to spend some time trying to solve it, in Amnesia we have tried to smooth it out a bit more. Making puzzles more integrated into the rest of the game, so that we don’t get these “puzzle breaks” in the gameplay.

Amnesia is more about the exploration and horror than Penumbra, we have definitely concentrated on a game where the atmosphere is dense and trying to create an intriguing story. Much of the game is about finding out who you are and piece everything together to get the answers you seek.

So no, the engine is not really going to give any complex puzzles, but it will however give a better interaction with the puzzles. The whole physics interaction, and interaction in general, has been tweaked a lot so it is for example much easier to open doors, turn valves and so on.

Zaista deluje obecavajuce :) svidja mi se atmosfera ,deluje doista relano,pogotovo ako igras u 2am u mracnoj sobi i slushas glavnog lika kako uzdise od straha kad cuje nesto strasno :)
 
Ovo mi se jako jako sviđa. Samo da urade vrhunski zvuk i atmosferu i ja ću biti srećan. Grafika može da bude i prosečna. Neka se sav trud usmeri na priču i gameplay i biće cimanja noću u mračnoj sobi sa slušalicama na max volume.
 
Ovo deluje odlicno...jedino mi smetaju ove najave da zagonetke nece biti teske, ispalo bi kao interaktivni film
 
Pa u onom traileru je vise "odglumeo" sam igrac, nego sto je zaista strasno :D I jos dahce ko neka zena

Steta sto ova igra nema nesto bolje teksture, izgledala bi dosta bolje.
 
Izasao demo pre neki dan, jel igra neko? Nije losa igra, naravno doza straha kao Penumbra. Samo cini mi se da ovde jos vise ima mraka i jos vise ga se vas lik plasi.:D
 
Treba igra zvanicno da izadje 7 septembra tj. sutra.

Jedan savet updateujte drajvere graficke da bi igra mogla da se startuje uopste,meni izbacuje fatal error zbog starih drajvera ...

Pa tu mu dođe kao 10/10 kod normalnih review sajtova :p

Moja kopija bi trebala stići do kraja nedelje ako bude bilo sreće pa ću javiti kako radi na Linuxu.

Edit:

Nisam ni pet minuta igrao demo kad ono propadoh kroz mapu. A taman sam mislio da ću da zeznem igru tako što ću proveriti sve sobe da li ima karakodžula ili ne :(

Inače radi sve max, totalno nezahtevno. Odvrnuo sam i SSAO i kod mene nema padova performansi. Grafika je zastarela ali su svetlosni efekti lepi na oko. Zvuk mi se mnogo dopada.

Phenom II 920, ATI 4890. Ako te zezaju performanse nemoj silovati SSAO, to najčešće ubija performanse kod starijih mašina (ali opet tvoja mašina bi trebala biti sasvim dovoljna za bilo šta što ovaj endžin može da ponudi).

Bag je propadanje kroz teksturu. Na samom početku, ideš do druge prostorije koja je zatrpana kamenjem (znači ne one levo od tebe već ideš desno), popni se na to kamenje i probaj da šetaš po plafonu. Sledi jedno buć u ambis. Nije da će veliki broj ljudi to probati ali opet.

Za početak da se igradim, igram se na Windows 7 :D
Meni se čini da je fino dočaran surround, barem na ovom mom krš sistemu zvuči dobro. Glasan jeste ali se to da regulisati.


Stvarno ne znam sta je ovde strasno.. Ali atmosfera nije losa, da je iskocilo nesto izazivalo bi cimove.

Pa kako ne iskače. Onaj zombi što šeta pored tebe što ne smeš da gledaš u njega. Pa ono čudo što te vreba u vodi (nisam prešao, malo me uvatila frka od toga). Oni a la Doom3 organski zidovi. Ima dosta toga što iskače a najstrašnije od svega je što je igra koncipirana kao najstrašniji mogući košmar: nešto te juri, ti ne znaš šta je ali ne smeš da se osvrćeš oko sebe već moraš samo napred a čini se da ti vreme ističe.

Upravo ideja i realizacija su najbolji deo igre. Šteta što nije ozbiljniji (bogatiji) studio u pitanju i što gejmplej nije raznovrsniji. Na ovoj osnovi bi mogla da se napravi vrhunska horor igra, bolja i od Undyinga i Dead Space-a zajedno.

Probao Win demo, Linux verziju ću probati kad stigne cela igra.
 
Uhh,bas je mracna igra,ali to se voli :d,deluje mi pre svega zanimljivo,mislim da nece razocarati
 
Probao sam demo i mogu reći da mi se jako sviđa. Kad je krenuo onaj u vodi da šeta prema meni samo je počela srčka da mi lupa. Pogubio sam se u momentu, krenuo da bežim nazad i umro. FENOMENALNO !! Zvuk mi se sviđa. Nadam se samo da će imati teži puzzles. Demo je samo 400mb. Predlažem svima da skinu i da probaju. Biće ovo super igra kad se pojavi full.
 
Ja sam tu negde stao, kad sam video da se onaj moj usere ziv od straha cim pogleda u vodu, rekoh bolje da malo stanem da covek dodje do daha pa da nastavim sa njim sutra, mozda izgubi osecaj hidrofobije.:D
 
Upravo odigrao demo, bas mi se svidja pocetak, pogotovo to bezanje po kutijama... Valjda ce i ostatak igre biti zanimljiv, u svakom slucaju kupujem cim se pojavi u radnjama

Odgledao sam trejler i strasno mi deluje, nego da pitam posto nisam igrao ni Penumbru a ni demo Amnesia, da li u igri ima nekog vatrenog oruzja za okrsaj sa tim karakondzulama?
 
U demu nije bilo vatrenog oružja, dok za full igru ne znam.
 
U ovom i prethodnim (penumbra serijal) ostvarenjima od ovih divnih momaka, nema vatrenog oruzja i igra je stravicnija od vecine danasnjih horora :)
