Ok....... everything started working for me again today..... I tried the "moving login to local account" trick.
1. Settings -> accounts -> your account -> Sign in with a local account instead
2. Go back to "your account" and look under "Other accounts you use" and check to see if the account you deactivated just now is still there (for me it was) and if it is, click on it and "remove"
3. Restart the computer and checked "your account" again to see if the microsoft account showed again if it does "remove" it again and restart.
4. Check the mail app to see if it is working (it started working for me now). If it is, check the mail accounts and see if the microsoft account you deactivated is still in the mail app accounts. If it is, delete it.
5. Check the store app (without signing in) and go to downloads. There were a lot of downloads waiting, but I paused all of them and only store update and the mail & calendar app update. For me it was still not downloading so I ran wsreset.exe and check the downloads again.
6. Once all the apps in windows store are updated, restart just in case.
7. Check to see if the mail and calendar apps are still working (they did for me).
8. Now, you can add the microsoft account back in "your account". (you will notice that it will be automatically added to the mail and calendar apps.
Hmm...... looking at all this I have the feeling that this is some kind of authentication issue.... where when mail starts it is was trying to send duplicate ids (microsoft ids) to the server and similar situation with store.
Good luck guys. Hope this helps.
