Samsung Galaxy S6 review: the change we’ve been waiting for

So there you have it – a detailed look at the Samsung Galaxy S6! Sometimes, a company needs a different perspective to gain all of its attention back and, with the Galaxy S6, Samsung has definitely brought back quite a bit of the buzz it lost with its predecessors. A pretty drastic change in the design philosophy brings the best looking and best handling device the Galaxy S line has ever had, but sacrifices some key elements that Samsung fans may pine over.

For all that has changed on the outside, what has changed on the inside might even out the negatives, though. Touchwiz is better than ever, which is something I never thought I would say. The camera experience continues to improve and keeps Samsung among the top Android shooters, and a powerful screen and processor make the Galaxy S6 an easily recommended daily driver for many users. Whether forward or backward, Samsung has finally shifted in a number of key areas, and the Galaxy S6 is the change we’ve been waiting for. The end result is one of the best devices Samsung has ever put out, and one that won’t fade into obscurity as easily as its predecessor.

Finally when it comes to the battery, the Galaxy S6 packs a relatively small 2,550 mAh battery, and, on top of the fact that the battery is now not replaceable, it’s quite easy to dismiss the battery life as subpar. What I haven’t mentioned in the performance section is the processor being fabricated with a 14 nm process. Moving down to 14 nm basically means that data is transmitted across a smaller distance, which should lead to better power consumption. With this said, I found that battery life remains in line with the Galaxy S5, rather than get better than before.

As such, the Galaxy S6 battery performs just about how you would expect. A bit over a full day of work for the typical user, with the power user probably having to rely on the power saving modes and the occasional connection to a fast charger. To say that it’s a bummer the Galaxy S6 isn’t an overachiever in the battery life department is unfortunate, but the fact that it is an average performer at best is something we, quite frankly, expected.

Odlican telefon sa skromnom baterijom za sada. Stvarno steta.

Edit2: na njegovo koriscenje 13h up, sot 3h i 50min.

Edit3: ovakav tw je trebao samsungu pre 2,3god ,ali za dobre stvari nikada nije kasno.

Da li se zna kada dolazi u Telenor?Verujem pre 10 aprila ali nemam za sada precizne informacije i da li se mozda naslucuje cena?Uglavnom nece biti po meni puno skuplji od Notea 4 sada.
 
U rangu Note 4 su cene znaci.Po radnjama bar ce biti.
 
Pa prvi put da će biti skuplji od Note serije.
Note 4 - 99.990rsd, Edge - 114.990rsd
 
875 eura za legalan S6, oni su nacisto prolupali, mene bi bilo sramota da istaknem tu cenu

Sada gledam u Dojcland je s6 700 eura, klepaju nasi samo tako.

Rasklapanje s6 i to detaljno. Interesuje me da li je kod svakog moba ovo prednje staklo zalepljeno lepkom ? Nekako mi cudno to sve izgleda..

Malo o cenama u uk, rekao bih da ce kod nas biti jos skuplji iako je standard tamo makar 20 puta veci.

Kakva smijurija. Trebat ce tona trenutnog ljepila da se sastavi telefon kad se baterija/ekran zamjeni. 🙂

Zaista cudno za telefon od 800€.

Ma znam. Ali sam citao negde da se ocekuje prodaja oko 50mil primeraka.. Sto je za android telefon ludilo..

Charging options aside, the battery’s overall performance didn’t impress me. I could go through a full day, except it drained faster than I expected. This isn’t to say that it’s awful and a major cause for concern, just that it isn’t as robust as it should be. In some respects, I consider the GS5 to last longer than this phone does.

There are performance caveats that I noticed early on. First, the sole speaker at the bottom, while an improvement from before, is not up to par with other devices of its caliber. The distortion became readily apparent as I ramped up the volume on anything from a YouTube video to a phone call on speaker. Second, the phone got really toasty during intensive tasks. It didn’t get hot enough to make it difficult to hold, and I didn’t see any resulting stutter or lag, but it was still more obvious than I expected.

To je to od mana za sada.. Kvalitete svi manje vise znamo 🙂

Leti stavim tel u auto kao navigaciju, klimu nemam, jel znaci da moze da se sve odlepi? Ako je tako lako sa fenom, sto ne bi i u autu u kom je leti 100c?
 
Na linku jasno pise da je u pitanju poslednji kvartal 2014. Verovatno si u pravu da se odnosi na sve modele. Ipak, u prvoj nedelji je prodato 10 miliona ip6, a tad jos nije izašao u kini.

Svaka cast kako se uopste usudjujes da koristis Samsung telefon kao navigaciju.Ja bi se plasio da mi ne eksplodira jer Samsung se greje pri surfovanju a mogu da zamislim kako se tek greje kad ga koristis kao navigaciju na 35° leti.

Ja koristio S4 do Italije i nazad u sred jula bez problema.Jedno pitanje za upucene da li uzeti note4 ili S6? Znam da je s6 nesto novo ali je i cena lepa od 800€,a koliko sam pratio po forumu nisam primetio da se ljudi zale na note4.Hvala na odgovoru...Pozdrav
 
Ako mozes da podneses velicinu n4,nema potrebe da uzimas precenjeni s6 u razmatranje.
 
Mene je više strah da koristim S4 kao navigaciju zbog burn in-a, a je li to toliki problem kao što se priča ne znam.
 
Ma da, najbolje onda uopšte ne koristiti s4 😀

Ovaj moj gnex ima burn in samo dva reda piksela i to na vrhu i na dnu ekrana. A star je skoro 3 godine i još sam ja kriv za burn in zato što sam nekoliko meseci koristio neka nenormalna podešavanja za boje 😀

A kod mene je korišćenje navigacije min 7h, a nekad i do 10h bez prestanka. Pa zbog toga se razmišljam , jer će osvetljenje biti skoro uvjek na max..ali imam nexus 4 sad za to, nego me je interesovao taj famozni burn in je li tako čest. Hvala.
