Ali pise i 330-350mm2 die size,pretpostavljam da su i ovde mislili za samo jedan GPU,jer u ~350mm2 u 55nm otprilike moze da se upakuje 1,5xG92,tj. tih 192 SP-a 🙂
 
...sto je sasvim dovoljno ako ce deliti isti scheduler i jos neke stvari... 😉

edit: kontam da je ovo sve bzvz dok ne izadje prvi test sa ENG primerkom...

A secondary source has told us some interesting bits about the upcoming GeForce 9900GTX, a card which will be based on the GT200 chip. We provided you with quite a lot of information last month, and the second source confirms pretty much all of it. The only real difference is that GT200 will be the heart of the GeFoce 9900 series, which was confirmed earlier. The source confirms 240 shader processors, 32 ROPS, and a 512-bit memory controller. This means that the high-end card will sport 1GB GDDR3 memory.

He also said that the card will require power from both a 6-pin and an 8-pin PCIe power connector, which is far from surprising as we're hearing that the chip has 240W TDP.

Nadam se da ce biti ovako?
 
kao sto rekoh, meni 192 nije imalo smisla ako su vec dva cipa u jednom...
 
brojak od 240 SP-ova je malo bezveze i bice da znaci da cip realno ima 256, ali da je 'vidija iskusno zbog redudantnosti i "za ne-daj-Boze" malo to secnula... Ako je to sto Starac prenosi tacno, onda je taj takozvani GT200 zapravo 2xG92 ili ti "single chip GX2"
 
onda bi bio red da i RV770 bude dupli RV670, mada bi i tako dosta zaostajao po performansama.
 
Ako je "single chip GX2", svejedno mora da bude brži od GX2. Ipak su čipovi na jednoj pločici i komunikacija među njima bi trebalo da bude neuporediva sa onom koja se obavlja kroz SLI sistem. I efektivno, ako ima giga memorije, onda ima giga memorije, a ne dva puta 512 🙂

And Geforce GTX 260

Nvidia has dared to make a drastic move in its naming convention. According to several sources close to the company, the new flagship chip codenamed GT200 and D10U-30 and D10U-20 will end up with Geforce GTX 280 brand for the faster card.

There will be one more branded as Geforce GTX 260 and this would be the one that many believed will be branded as Geforce 9900GT.

The launch is scheduled for the 25th week of the year and it should take place between the 16th and 20th of June. The name comes after Roy Tailor the Vice President of The way its meant to be played said that Nvidia’s names got a bit too complicated.

We remember that John Byrne, Vice president of Graphics, said the same as ATI lost its XT and PRO suffixes in its names. We believe that Nvidia learned from ATI that this actually did help and therefore they are doing the same; the bigger number means better, at least in their three digit brands.

Ne smem ni da pomislim... strah me hvata vec od racuna za struju, grejanje i da ne pominjem 😀

Salu na stranu, NVIDIA i ATI ce uskoro zahtevati posebno tower kuciste za svoje cudovisne kartice, a umesto pretplate za igrice placace se pretplata za tecni azot :d

Dakle, vrlo slican prethodnom na 9800GTX.

...sto ide u prilog Genuinovoj tvrdnji da je graficka kartica racunar za sebe i *da joj ne treba CPU* 😛 :d

neko je na xtremesystems forumu napisao da je jezgro monstruoznih 575 mm^2... i to bez NVIO chipa! To je povrsina dva K10 jezgra!!! brrr

Izgleda da je to sa dva GPU-a spojena u jedan chip ipak fake,tako da ostaje single GPU kartica sa masivnim GPU-om.Bas ono sto cekamo 🙂
 
Geforce GTX 280 to launch on June 18th!

So will Geforce GTX 260

We've found out what looks to be the launch date for GT200 cards. We are happy to report that both GT200 cards are single chip cards, something that we've suggested back in January.

The launch should take place on the 18th of June, just in the middle of week 25, and at current schedule that is two days after ATI's RV770 launch.

The name Geforce GTX 280 looks a bit odd, but I am sure that we will get used to it. The only other alternative was to use a Geforce 9900 cliché, but we believe that GT200 deserves a better name. As it's been suggested on many occasions, GT200 chip will have significantly more Shader units and the most frequent number that we heard was 240. We are still working on getting the confirmation of this bold spec.

Nvidia just ran out of numbers and it’s starting all over again. It's like resetting the odometer, more or less.
