Prey 2

In Prey 2, a source close to the game tells Kotaku, players will take on the role of a federal air marshal who is aboard the commercial airliner seen crashing in the spaceship early on in the original game. Prey 2 takes place during the same time frame as the original, but with this different perspective, we're told.

In Prey, Tommy sees a commercial airliner crashing onto the surface of the space ship he is on and hears a pilot calling in a mayday for "Seajay Air 6401." Later in the game Tommy comes across a human survivor of the crash in a holding cell.

'We were flying over Topeka and then the lights, the lights, the lights everywhere. They took us off the plane... They.. .there's a big one.. It eats... it eats," the survivor tells Tommy before losing it and telling him to shut the cell door.

Prey 2 follows the air marshal as he makes his way through the same ship, fighting off different warring alien factions with his pistol until an alien captures him. After that opening, used to tie the two games together, the game jumps forward, we're told, to a seedy alien planet that sounds a bit like the future Earth of Blade Runner. This is where the game really opens up, revealing the marshal as the only human on an alien planet working as a bounty hunter.

The game is meant to be an open world title with multiple ways to complete objectives, but at its heart it is still a first-person shooter, we're told.

Players will get clients via a communicator and gather information from the environment and the inhabitants by scanning non-player characters. These scans, we're told, reveal a character's intentions and identity.

Prey 2 removes Tommy as the main character and lets you step into the shoes of Killian Samuels, a sheriff and a prison guard. You may have already seen him in the live-action trailer Bethesda released last week.

The game kicks off with you playing the first level from the original Prey, but only as Killian, not Tommy.

Human Head said the game has been in development for three years, with Xbox 360 being the lead platform.

3D, Move and Kinect support won’t be featured.

There’s to be no multiplayer, but there will be DLC after release.

“Who would pick the MP mode of Prey 2 ahead of the one in, for example, Halo Reach? We’d rather to a really good SP adventure,” said the studio to the mag.

The game will have an open structure. Said the mag: “Go wherever you want, talk to whoever you want, do the missions you want.”

You’ll also be able to use your surroundings and shadows to sneak up on enemies.

The game’s producer said the sequel will take its inspirations from Mass Effect, Riddick and Blade Runner, with another key inspiration being DICE’s Mirror’s Edge. This will be shown in-game with parkour moments.

The magazine notes that Killian is “as flexible and limber as Faith of ME, leaping over hights, hanging by arms from pipes, balancing on thin boards and jumping like a cat upwards structures,” adding it has “the moving scheme from Mirror’s Edge, the freedom of Mass Effect and the fire fights of Killzone 2.”

Čekao sam nastavak, ali ovo nemam nameru da igram, da sam hteo ME igrao bih ME.

Me like it! Prvi deo je bio bas dobar. Nazalost, secam se da sam se negde zaglavio i da nikako nisam mogao dalje (neki bug je bio u pitanju, ne secam se tacno sta je bilo, ali ni load ranijih sejvova itd nije pomagao), pa sam vremenom odustao od igre.
Ovo mi deluje veoma zanimljivo, posto su mi uzori za ovu igru bas onako za moj "lajking", tako da bi ovo trebalo da bude super ako bude sve lepo upakovano...

Glavni lik nije isti, nema portala, nema zagonetki, gameplay i level design je sasvim drugaciji; mogli su i neko drugo ime onda da uzmu. :D

Mislim da je zbog toga. Ali svejedno, bolje nego posle da kazu da su ukrali od Valve-a. :p
 
Sada nema smisla da nosi u nazivu Prey jer nema nikakve veze sa originalnom igrom. To rade samo iz marketinških/brand razloga. Kada su najavili igru, rekli su da je igra prošla kroz značajne promene od onoga što je prvobitno zamišljeno.

In the original Prey, the lead character, Tommy, was too reluctant, and didn't realize his hero status until late in the game. So, in the new game we're making him a hardened, take-charge character who's learned fast from his previous experience, and ready to accept his status as a galactic savior. We're definitely beefing up the combat—expect more enemies onscreen simultaneously versus 3-4 in the original—as well as the spirit powers. And while the original was too much of a corridor shooter, Prey 2 will have much more variety and wide-open areas: think CoD4 to get a good idea of what we're shooting for in terms of open-world look and feel.

Kažem ja, far cry 2 sindrom(ne kažem da je FC2 baš tako loš, ali nema veze sa FC):(

Imamo brend, hajde da ga iskoristimo "dobro", nema veze što nema veze sa prethodnom igrom:), progutaće to masa...

Pljuckajte po Far Cry 2 koliko hoćete ali na kraju će se ispostaviti da će on jednog dana biti tata od igre za ove "revitalizovane" next gen igre. Svakako ću pre igrati FC2 nego li poslednjeg Splintera Cella.
 
Ja to zbog nepovezanosti priče FC i FC2, ne ulazim u to šta je bolje, totalno su različite igre:)
Ja ne gotivim FC2 ali poštujem tuđi izbor i mišljenje, recimo da se FC2 zvao drugačije sve bi bilo ok, ali eto nije:) Čak je u FC2 priča skroz ok, ali kolorit same igre me je smarao, Brown, Charlie Brown:p Nikad ga nisam završio, kretao sam mislim 3x i nije vredelo.
A ovaj prey2 je, pa nemam reči, stvarno sam zavoleo Prey, Tommy mi je skroz ok, cela priča sa indijancima isto ok, zaslužili su nekog heroja kad su im već oteli zemlju.
Prey odigram jednom godišnje i uvek mi izgleda super, zarazio sam još par ortaka, svi smo čekali nastavak ali posle svega viđenog smo pali u depresiju:D

Pa bili su, ali mrzi ih toliko da programiraju i da se smaraju :p, jednostavnije im da to odrade bez portala i uzmu lovu na osnovu stare slave..

Samuels awakens after an undisclosed amount of time and finds himself acclimated to life on an alien world called Exodus. It is obvious that he has been a resident for some time, and more bizarrely, has made a name for himself as a bounty hunter. With no recollection of the years between the initial abduction and now, we have as much catching up to do as Samuels does.

The city is deliberately built with verticality in mind and exudes elements of Mirror's Edge. Freerunning is a very important feature, and it looks to be some of the most fluid yet presented in a video game. When he is able to jump either sideways or upward from a ledge, Killian lifts his hand in the appropriate direction to let you know the action is safe. If you're obviously aiming for a certain ledge and miss it by just a bit, the game will compensate with forgiveness, so as not to interrupt the flow of parkour. This is important, since you spend a lot of time sneaking up on characters from up high -- the possible frustration in getting to these locales seems to have been blunted. Killian also acquires a nice pair of hover boots that allow him to quickly descend from the great heights of the city.

With the parkour components comes a snap-to cover system that helps when things get loud and messy. You can shoot while hanging from ledges, using them as cover and then dropping from them as a quick exit. Enemies use cover as well, though you can counter with a gadget that levitates them out of their hiding spots and creates an instant shooting gallery.

Another gadget available to you is the visor (think: Arkham Asylum's detective mode), which highlights objectives, potential bounties, DNA trails and other points of interest. After consulting the visor, Killian tails a low-end bounty inside a scummy casino, gives chase and eventually tackles him. At that point, you're given the option to capture or kill their bounty, depending on where you want to fall on the spectrum of morality.

Prey 2 has a unique touch with how it deals with weapons. Your gun is holstered, and only pulled out in situations that call for shooting. This makes the game feel much more realistic, as you aren't pointing a gun in someone's face as they try to thank you for saving their life. If you decide to pull the gun anyway, people shy away, quiver, or start shooting -- no one ignores a gun pointed in their face.

Later on, I saw Killian pursue a story mission in which he needs to find an informant that can lead him to an important bounty. After tracking the informant down (thanks, visor!), Killian is asked for monetary compensation. Instead of complying, however, he throws the informant's bodyguard over a railing and is consequently given the information at no charge. This kind of choice promises to be a common aspect of Prey 2, and it is revealed that the informant now feels that Killian owes him a serious favor for killing his bodyguard (go figure).

In capturing his next bounty, Killian is faced with a dozen entry points into a building, all with different advantages and disadvantages. Ultimately, he chooses to take the bounty's first lieutenant hostage and attempt to use him as leverage, but the unamused bounty kills the hostage in an attempt to shoot Killian. Although using a meatshield as collateral failed in this instance, there are times in which it is the perfect approach. After failing to kill Killian the bounty makes a run for it, just like every stupid criminal in every video game.

Chasing the crook is made much more difficult by the fact that he can teleport short distances, forcing the pursuer to find a unique path instead of simply following in the bounty's footsteps. Once captured, the bounty offered the player more money than the bounty was worth, creating a distinct decision – take the money or maintain Killian's upstanding reputation.

Prey 2 was not without faults, however. Some of the interactions with NPCs were a bit sloppy and in one instance, an alien looked as if he wasn't interacting with any of the environment around him. The game is running on a "heavily modified" id Tech 4 engine instead of the new id Tech 5, so we may begin to see the limits of the id Tech 4 with a game as ambitious as Prey 2.

Also, it now relies on a checkpoint system following death, instead of the innovative portals of Prey that would dump you right back into a firefight. I didn't see any missions other than finding a bounty and chasing them, so I hope that's just one of several different tasks. With 20 upgradeable gadgets and 40 upgradeable weapons, however, there likely won't be a lack of creative ways to capture creeps.

Human Head says that Prey 2 will be a largely linear story within an open game - similar, in terms of how much choice it gives you, to something like Red Dead. Apparently it will take around 15 hours to rush through, more if you soak up the world around you.

Jes' da ovo kao da nema mnogo veze s prvim delom, trejler mi se đasvi. Rusti cage je dobar izbor ovde po meni, a ako bi mogli da naslutimo gameplay elemente na osnovu viđenog iz trejlera, mislim da imamo čemu da se nadamo.
CGI je dobro odrađen i jedva čekam da vidim prvi gameplay trejler.
