Otkad sam saznao za Prefetch direktorijum u Windowsu, stvarno je počeo da me nervira (smaranje sa brisanjem recently used dokumenata je bilo dovoljno, a sad i ovo). Postoji li mogućnost da se nekako isključi to trejsovanje programa (neki servis or samting) ili sam osuđen da večno 🙂 ručno brišem sadržaj Prefetcha? Mislim, mogu ja da napravim batch fajl koji će da radi posao, ali može li drugačije?

EDIT: Nashao sam reshenje na tweakxp.com, pa ako josh nekog interesuje, evo:
treba u regeditu otvoriti HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters i namestiti EnablePrefetcher na 0. Po defaultu je (kod mene) 3. Predpostavljam da su 1 i 2 samo za aplikacije i boot, a 3 za oba.

Cemu zapravo sluzi Prefetch ..? znam da na neki nacin prati pokretanje programa i sl. ali nije mi jasno zasto bi brisanje tih fajlova iz dir. donelo bilo kakvo dobro...

Ma Prefetch je nekakav monitoring, Windows posmatra koje aplikacije najcheshce koristish pa se kao brzhe startuju... kod mene je isto, s tim shto se windows dizhe za jedan ipo obrtaj loading screena kada je prefetch iskljuchen, naspram deset kada je ukljuchen...

Windows XP monitors the files that are used when the computer starts and when you start applications. By monitoring these files, Windows XP can prefetch them. Prefetching data is the process whereby data that is expected to be requested is read ahead into the cache. Why do I need to clear the prefetch folder periodically?
After using Windows XP for several weeks, you will find that the prefetch folder size become larger and larger. This folder probably contain a lot of prefetch direction for applications you no longer use. Clearing the folder will improve your Windows performance and preserve some disk space.
Which prefetch setting suit for my system?
If your Windows XP runs slowly you may consider to disable or set the prefetch to monitor boot files only.
