Massive Action Game-MAG

-2 to 256 Players
-'hopes' for 30FPS when all the action is going down at all times
-Dedicated servers with new network architectures to help reduce lag
-Streamline matches to reduce need to wait.
-All audio cues (planes flying by, air raid sirens) are actual players causing it or player triggered actions. This can happen in other regions and you can hear in distance.
-PunkBuster quality cheating detection. System tests for things like rate of fire/movement/damage to keep things in check
-First Person view (better sense of scale and immersion into game)
-20 years in future, 3 major PMCs bid for war. The power struggle of these 3 dubbed Shadow War
3 Factions, only 2 announced now: Raven(high tech weapons, most trained soldiers on planet. Will appeal to Halo/Resistances fans). Sver(fierce fighters from middle east/central Asia area. Battle harden warriors)
-256 Domination mode. Attackers and defenders. Out layer of defense and inner layer. Once gone through the out layer 'hell breaks loose'. Anti-aircraft and radar are vulnerable. If your faction wins alot it gets the contract for that game mode and gets XP bonuses and perks.
-3 other game modes: Acquisition(128 player escort-style mode. Steal 2 prototype armored transports and bring to extraction zone). Sabotage(64player, control 2 points for X time then a demolition objective is revealed which must be destroyed). Suppression(64 player team deathmatch)
-Customize face, voice, armor.
-No soldier class system, but has a free-form kit creation. Can save 3 different load-outs. Depending on your choice of weapons, it can be told by looking at you so others can tell. Change your load-out to match how the battle is going.
-Snipers can get more than normal XP for killing people in designated areas of importance
-Ranking up gives access to new weapons/perks/leadership positions.
-Recognizes issues with large scale maps and the traveling.

-8 player into a squad, 4 squads into a platoon, 4 platoons into a company (US Military)
-Certain goals for each squad/platoon etc. Have 2ndary goals like blowing bridges.
-Veteran ranks can enlist into leadership roles, give orders to squad, then platoon, then the company(OIC)
-Officer only communication channel to help organize the battle


-Want to be approachable to casual yet have alot of features for the hardcore.
-Been running 256 player tests since Nov. 08 and plans to have closed/open betas.
-Fall release date

Sto se tice izlaska na jesen, iako je moguce da ce delaystation napasti ponovo, jedan od likova iz tima je ovako nesto, prakticno, i potvrdio.
Cini mi se da je u Bad Company 2 threadu napisao nesto tipa "I hope it doesn't come out on Fall 2009. :D"

MAG is fun. In fact, it's massive fun. It's fast and loose, free-flowing, improvisational, spectacular, structured without being too rigid; it accommodates lone wolves, team players and power-trippers alike, and makes it easy for players themselves to direct the action. You'd expect it to be intimidating, but it actually feels like the FPS for everybody. Even after just one 20-minute, 128-player match, it's hard to shake the feeling that, one day, all multiplayer shooters will be made in its image.

Unlike other large-scale multiplayer shooters - the Battlefield series and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars spring to mind - MAG surprisingly eschews player-controlled vehicles beyond those APCs. "Vehicles, especially fast vehicles with long ranges, require a lot of space. What we wanted to do was make sure our maps were densely populated, were massive, but weren't of a scale where players were running a lot to get into combat, or shooting from a very large distance."

That's right, experience points. Like an RPG (or, more appropriately, like recent Call of Duty games), MAG allows players to level up, gaining access to new gear and new skills. "Every time I level up I get a point that I can use to add a new skill," says Beaudoin. "That can make me better at running, give me better fitness, maybe let me react better to grenades; or it could give me that new red-dot scope for the assault rifle." And like an RPG, you have to make some "meaningful choices" between buffing different skills. "You're not going to be able to unlock everything in the game as one character," Beaudoin says. "You can go all the way down, get to the end, and then try a different path...but you're not going to have access to everything at any one time."

These environments are drawn in remarkable detail, considering the immense technical demands of running a 256-player battler at a solid 30 frames per second. MAG isn't quite Call of Duty 4 or Killzone 2 in the beauty-pageant stakes, and it has an understated look. But it's sharp, the level of detail is convincing, and abundant use of light-scattering fog and smoke engenders an impressively gritty, war-zone feel. Zipper's coding achievement is quietly immense.

The three factions differ in style more than anything. Raven, whose futuristic bunkers are found in humid South American hills, are a sleek, high-tech, special-ops operation, all black carbon fibre armour and meticulous hygiene. Valor are grizzled, manly war veterans with a traditional military look, toughing it out in Alaska. S.V.E.R. (pronounced "sever") are edgy, aggressive guerrilla fighters with hoodies, hockey masks and improvised, ramshackle equipment, daubing graffiti all over the abandoned Russian installations they call home.

Otprilike, ako sve ovo bude zaista i funkcionisalo, ovo ce biti ultimativna simulacija ratnog sukoba i verovatno prva igra u kojoj ce te se osecati da ste ZAISTA na ratistu. Posto SOCOM ima fenomenalnu zajednicu ne sumnjam i da ce ovde oficiri kojima bude povereno upravljanje PMC-ova biti potpuno sposobni da vode tok bitke i pravilno usmeravaju dejstva vojnika pod svojom komandom.

Inace, potvrdjeno je da nece biti pretplate, tj. nema nikakvog placanja, osim uobicajene kupovine same igre.

When you first start to play MAG you create your account. There are no fees to play the game beside the cost of the actual game on the disc. There is no MMORPG tax.

You can customize your face, outfit (from the selection that matches your army), and game voice. There is no soldier class system but you can customize your load out and save three different load outs to choose from in each battle.

Choose wisely because once you do every action to take in MAG should be about the global success of their army. They plan on having news broadcasts and community sites carrying the real time news from "the Shadow War" to the gaming world.

Aktivno pratim informacije o MAG,ne kazem da ce biti losa igra,samo ne lici na simulaciju.

Ako mislis na realno ponasanje likova i oruzja, ni ja ne verujem da ce se igra kretati u tom pravcu. A neces moci ni da vidis vevericu na 500m. :d

Ali ne sumnjam da ce deo vezan za komadnovanje i upravljanje toka bitkom biti maestralno realizovan, jer je dobar deo Zippera ranije pravio simulatore za vojsku, a i SOCOM igre su bile fenomenalne dok nisu krenuli da povecavaju velicinu mapa i broja igara, sto je opet, vise krivica slabog hardwarea PS-a 2 nego samog razvojnog tima.

Takodje, ono sto je vrlo bitno jeste cinjenica da server infrastruktura odlicno funkcionise i da igra cak i sa 256 igraca ide tecno i bez laga.

ali mi nije jasno kakvo im je zadovoljstvo da igraj u128 vs 128????? a meci nekako koa da su super sonicni koa da svetle ali mozda gameplay sve zameni inace svidja mi se zato sto mogu i starija i novija oruzija da se uzmu ali ne znam svrhu onih aviona to je glupo...kao u codu neko se usteka i cepa avionima
po meni mislim da ce nisanjenje biti mana kao u BAd Company koliko sam primetio iz trailera..a i glupo sto ima tenk....kad izlazi...q3????
 
Jedino sto mi smeta je sto nije TPS vec FPS...sto nisu odradili kao Socom, bilo bi mnogo bolje!
Kad mi se igra FPS uzecu Killzone...a kada mi se igra TPS onda biram MGO!,)

Ne moze ovde neko da se steka i "cepa avionima".
Da bi imao podrsku iz vazduha, moras da onesposobis neprijateljske PVO sisteme, a dejstva iz vazduha su vrlo ogranicena.

kad bi postojalo neko novo lice brate u socomu mozes da vidis skoro sve a da nisi izlozen to je gluo samo se ustekas i cekas da neko dodje a prvo lice sta znam nije lose....

Pa u Socom-u na PS2 to nije predstavljalo problem, to nije minus tj sve zavisi od igraca...Dobri igraci su to koristili, kao i ja sam!:D

ja se nadam da ce ova igra imati osecaj realizma kao KZ 2, ne znam kako bi sad igrao neki FPS bez dobre fizike !
 
pa naravno da ce biti ogromne mape, ipak je igra za 256 igraca. logicno je da ce biti snajpera i svi ostalih vojnih klasa. kao i naravno vozila, sto mene jako raduje. i dan danas kukam sto KZ 2 nema bar 2 mape sa vozilima.
u svakom slucaju jedva cekam neki GP video da vidim kako funkcionise to sa naredjivanjem i slicne stvari. trebao bi biti bruka osecaj da budes general i da imas neku vrstu komande nad 255 igraca na tvojoj strani.
 
Nece 255 igraca biti na tvojoj strani, vec, u najboljem slucaju, jos 127. :)

U zadnjem 1up podcastu su spomenuli da su developeri testirali cak i 256 vs 256 bitke i da sve radi dobro (jer se masa deli na grupe i salje na razlicite delove mape da resavaju questove). Mada retail ce imati "samo" 128 x 128.
 
Naisao na sam informaciju da 31. decembra pocinje beta test, i bice od 20 000-40 000 ljudi ukljuceno.
Samo nemam pojma kako se prijaviti se.

Ovo je, medjutim, private beta sa manjim brojem ucesnika. Public beta ce valjda uskoro uslediti.

^Nasumicno se salju beta formulari koje moras da ispunis kako bi imao sansu da upadnes u betu.

Beta pocinje a niko od nas nije dobio poziv ! WTF ! Bas sam se nadao da cu moci da igram betu da se upoznam detaljno sa igrom.

Niko sa ovog foruma nije bio ni u closed beti KZ-a 2, ali je par nas upali u 2. fazu open bete prosle godine.
Closed bete su obicno vrlo ogranicene i u njima uglavnom ucestvuju novinari i nekolicina nasumicno izabranih igraca.
