Top mobile Clarkdale is Core i7 920XM

3.2GHz single core overclocking

Clarkdale, Intel's quad-core mobile CPU that will end up costing you $999 just got a brand and some interesting features. The brand is Core i7 920XM where X stands for eXtreme a M for Mobile.
The official clock speed of this CPU is 2.0GHz for all four cores with eight hyper treads but turbo feature of Nehalem CPU can get the speed all the way to 3.2GHz, at least for a single core.
As we said many times before Turbo can overclock one, two, three or four cores and it pays attention on the maximal TDP that cannot be exceeded. The CPU supports DDR3 1333 has 8MB cache and 55W TDP.
A 55W TDP is insanely high but that is the best you can get from high performance quad-core. The launch time should be last week of September.


Top Arrandale 32nm is Core i7 620M

35W for CPU+GPU

What a mess. Intel will call both Clarksfield 45nm quad-core and Arrandale 32nm dual-core with 45nm graphics Core i7. The Core i7 brand will definitely bring a lot of confusion to the mobile market, as some of the Core i7 parts will have four cores and some only two.


The top Arrandale will end up with the Core i7 620M brand and it will work at 2.66GHz with Intel's Turbo feature. It will be able to overclock at least one of its cores all the way to 3.33GHz which probably means that this might be the fastest Intel dual-core notebook to date.

The GPU will work at 500MHz, which is much less than with discrete products, where the GPU of this integrated CPU can reach 900MHz, but at the same time Core i7 620M will have maximal overall TDP of 35W. It has two cores and four threads, works with DDR3 1066 and has 4MB of L3 cache.

Introduction time is Q1 2010.

Negde sam video, ali vise ne mogu da pronadjem taj link, da ce Intel Core iX mobile procesori dolaziti i u MCM pakovanjima (CPU + GPU jezgro) da li neko ima vise informacija o tome?

Ovim bi cak i Core2Duo u 32nm mogao da se upakuje sa pci-e kontrolerom i GPU-om na jednu CPU "plocicu"

Pa sada sve ne mogu da se setim da li sam ja to tako 'skontao u svojoj glavi' ili je bas taj i3 najavljen kao Core2Duo u MCM pakovanju sa PCI kontrolerom i GPU.

Jedina nejasnoca je:

It is a hybrid 32 nm/45 nm multi-chip package using the 32 nm CPU core and the 45 nm technology for the memory controller and GPU.

Cemu memory controller kada to Arrandale treba da ima u CPU kao naslednik Lynnfielda?

p.s. Jos da naguraju HDMI, LAN i USB port u procesor i nista nam vise ne treba

Mozda jos ne mogu ili ne zele da sve rade u 32nm. Ali ipak jeste integrisan.
Pravo da ti kazem, kad mogu GPU - cudi me da i ovo ostalo ne stave HDMI sam i mislio da ce imati, cim ima GPU.
Zamisli da jos integrisu USB, RAID i LAN stvarno, i posle ploe budu picoATX samo za memoriju

Zadivljujuce je sta sve Intel uspeva da resi sa MCM pakovanjem. Generalno sve vise dobijamo SoC (sa mocnijim CPU) kao sto su PowerPC bazirani SoC-i koje mozemo sresti na raznim mestima.

Mene pre interesuju i5-mobile i kad ce neko izbaciti prve laptope sa njima.. znam da jedan proizvodjac uveliko vec radi na softveru jer me cima svaki dan za izmene

Baterije su sve bolje, pa da ne kvarimo...

Ja bi nesto sa odlicnim monitorom... ostalo me manje brine (naravno sa i5-Mobile i SSD-ovima

Ja bih nesto ladno sa dobrom tastaturom

Bio bih najsrecniji covek na svetu da izbace CPU koje je po brzini isti kao
C2D T9400 ali da nema Max TDP 35W nego jedno 15W-20W.
