Fallen Earth is a MMORPG developed by Fallen Earth LLC and Icarus Studios LLC. The game sets itself apart from other MMOs, taking place in a post-apocalyptic setting located in and around the American Grand Canyon. The game is currently in its closed beta stage of development, with an estimated release date in Q3 2009.

Plot

The Fallen Earth story begins in the 21st Century, when the first in a series of natural disasters hit the United States. As Americans struggle to recover, an investment tycoon named Brenhauer buys a controlling stake in a mega-corporation named GlobalTech. By 2051, he moves his headquarters to the Grand Canyon Province, where GlobalTech eventually creates a self-sufficient economic and military mini-state. Meanwhile, in India and Pakistan, the Shiva virus, named for the dance-like convulsions that it caused in its victims, appears among the human populace. As the infection starts to spread, countries accuse each other of engineering the virus. Political paranoia turn to open aggression and nuclear conflict. The nuclear conflict combined with the virus decimates the planet. Less than one percent of Earth's population survived the Fall, and the Hoover Dam Garrison and Grand Canyon Province are the only known outposts of human civilization.
Outside the protective confines of the Hoover Dam Garrison, the player will encounter ruins of the old world, genetically-altered creatures, strange technology, and six warring factions. Some factions seek to rebuild the old world, others wish to build a new one in their own image, and some simply desire chaos and anarchy. The game is set in the Grand Canyon Province, a 7,000 square-kilometer area surrounding the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam. The environment is zoneless and set in sectors which can be advanced through at the players own pace, each of which continue the story-arc of the game.
Among its features are first-person and third-person views, classless system, Player-versus-Player combat, and crafting.

Gameplay

The game world of Fallen Earth is based on a real-world topographical map of the Grand Canyon. Measuring 84 kilometers on each side, the world map covers more than 7000 kilometers square of usable terrain. Parts of the map will be unreachable at release, but will be gradually opened as more content is developed. The developers have stated that they expect the game to receive a Mature rating.[12]
The game is slated to support the AGEIA PhysX Processor and Vivox, Inc.'s in-game voice communication technology.
Character Creation
Fallen Earth promises to have extensive character customization with customizable features including: clothing, facial features, skin tones, hairstyles and colors, age, body and facial hair, piercings, body art (tattoos), and makeup.
Character Development
Fallen Earth does not have a fixed class system, preferring skill-based character development with a strong emphasis on flexibility and player preference. The game features active skills, trade-skills as well as mutation-based skills, which can be increased through Advancement Points or skill usage. Advancement Points (APs) are earned alongside level experience, and aside from increasing skill points, can also be used to boost Attributes.
Combat
Combat in Fallen Earth is generally in a first-person shooter format. The camera can be moved to alternate between third and first person modes. Players will need to manually keep their targets in a targeting reticle to actually hit them in combat. Skills can be used to influence combat in different ways, but again, enemies must still be manually targeted. It has been stated that there will be no "target locking" as in other MMOs.
Equipment
Fallen Earth will have thousands of items as well as equipment and accessories of varying strength for players to craft and equip in up to 22 separate equipment slots. Character customization also covers equipment, which can be worn in a variety of different ways. In Newsletter #5 (November 2005) the developers revealed that you'll be able to wear baseball caps forward or backwards, tuck or untuck your shirt, and even zip your jacket up or leave it open.
Possible Equipment (Clothing, Armor)
Bandanas, hockey masks, gas masks, cowboy hats, top hats, welding helmets, sunglasses, eye patches, goggles, etc.
Jackets (jean, leather), t-shirts, shoulder pads, trench coats, tank tops, etc.
Weapons
Fallen Earth will allow its players to carry as many as 6 active weapons which will be a part of your character's appearance (visible to yourself and other players.) Screenshots, videos, and subsequent newsletters have revealed a small list of weapons to appear in Fallen Earth such as a baseball bat and rocket propelled grenades.
Vehicles
Fallen Earth will feature a range of vehicles, from small, fast motorcycles with little carrying capacity to a heavy duty Tornado jeep-style vehicle with a large carrying capacity. Each of the available vehicles differs in speed, fuel type and efficiency, cargo capacity, armor and weaponry. Vehicles are said to also come with varying storage capacities. Characters can own up to 5 vehicles, which are acquired through research and crafting (up to 3 weeks non-stop in some cases).

Factions

The faction allegiances displayed as a wheel.
Players start out neutral in Fallen Earth and can remain neutral or choose to align themselves with a particular faction. Aligning with a faction will give characters a head start in skills and equipment that the faction specializes in (eg. they'll have easier access to learning certain skills). There are also a number of NPC factions that players can build alignment with. Helping or disrupting factions will affect the player's relationships with them. Killing faction members can also influence your faction alignment.
The alignments of the 6 main factions can be arranged into a "wheel". Each faction has 2 allies, 2 enemy and 1 arch-enemy faction, with the arch-enemy being the faction on the opposite side of the wheel.
Primary factions also have a number of sub-groups that hold to various motives and differences in ideology. While some of these sub-factions are known, many are secretive and will only reveal their existence to those they trust. Characters can become members of a sub-faction and gain special titles, abilities and equipment. Some sub-factions are mutually exclusive, but not all are.
Enforcers
Roots: Military and police forces, first responders and emergency support personnel.
Since The Fall: Dedicated to the belief that order and civilization will be restored, and willing to place their weapons and their lives behind that belief, the Enforcers march a narrow and precarious path, balancing the defense of order with the possibility of dictatorship.
Children of the Apocalypse (aka CHOTA)
Roots: Anarchists, survivalists, paramilitary militia, rebels of society.
Since The Fall: Gathered into a loose confederation, the primal and nomadic CHOTA harass and disrupt attempts to re-build and re-establish society - striking, destroying, and then moving on in search of their next target.
Vistas
Roots: Environmentalists, alternate energy entrepreneurs, seekers of holistic forms of medicine, health and organic food.
Since The Fall: Devoted to the preservation of the natural world, the Vista’s kept knowledge in plant and herbal medicine alive, expanded research with genetic and agricultural skills essential to survival, but their opposition to the resurrection of advanced synthetic technologies creates tension with those who remember how comfortable things seemingly were – and could be again.
Techs
Roots: Scientists, technologists, professors and researchers in all science fields.
Since The Fall: Primarily devoted to maintaining what vestiges of pre-Fall science and technology remain, the Techs are also constantly on the alert for opportunities to rediscover and re-implement the technologies that some say played a part in causing the Fall.
Lightbearers
Roots: Doctors, visionaries and followers of spirit paths, faithful devotees of mind powers and healing arts.
Since The Fall: Devoting themselves to their vision of bringing Light into the shadows and darkness of the Fallen Earth, the Lightbearers view their path as the only true path, and their mastery of mental and mutational powers makes theirs a faith to be feared as well as followed.
Travelers
Roots: Crime syndicates and cartels, street gangs, secret societies, triads, con artists and thieves.
Since The Fall: Using their skills and secret networks to create an “underground economy”, the Travelers blend in to deceive… and are both a threat to the re-establishment of civilization and providers of otherwise unobtainable goods and services.

S obzirom da sam dobio infraction kad sam poslednji put komentarisao betu (dobro je pa josh imam account) reci cu samo jedno: ovakav MMO josh niste igrali!
 
Bogami, trailer kida! :) Totalno anti clise-fantasy. Svidja mi se ono: "This ain't your daddies mmo" lol :D
 
Jos uvek nista konkretno. Na internetu ima raznih prica kako ce mozda biti F2P ali ja ti iz prve ruke kazem da nema sanse za to. To sire oni koji nisu igrali igru. Sve sto se zna jeste da ce cena biti konkurentna mainsteamu sto bi znacilo 14.99$ mesecno.
 
Prvi screenshotovi koji sam video poodavno nisu bas bili graficki bogzna kako dobri da li sada to izgleda nesto bolje. Znam da mogu da nasminkaju screenshotove pa me interesuje kako to izgleda uzivo. Steta sto nece biti F2P ili bar slicna koncepcija na koju sada prelazi Dungeons & Dragons jer ovaj model uopste ne odgovara casual igracima.

Tacno tako:) Al' ajd da vidimo koliko ce njih opstati sa ovakvom politikom i sa ovolikim brojem MMORPG-ova. Posebno sto mi se cini da su se igraci pomalo zasitili ovakvog koncepta. Pre par dana sam posle jedne godine pauze usao u Guild Wars i na moje cudjenje jos uvek je bilo puno ljudi po gradovima. Sto znaci da casual igraca ima poprilicno.

Kako igraci mogu da se zasite necega sto nikad nisu igrali :trust:. Veruj mi ovaj MMO je poprilicno originalan i nikakve veze nema sa WoWom, Everquestom i gomilom njihovih klonova.

Drugo, F2P je put u propast. Igra ne moze biti takozvani F2P (mikro transakcije) i da bude dobra. Takve igre ne odgovaraju ni casual igracima jer obicno zahtevaju ogromna ulaganja da nadomeste manjak igranja (Runes of Magic je savrsen primer uzasno skupe Cash Shop igre).

Takodje ova igra nema veze ni sa Guild Warsom i daleko je ozbiljnija od GWa (Guild Wars je neka forma entry lvl MMOa). Ova igre je namenjena ljudima koji cekaju nesto drugacije, nesto sto ce biti vredno ulozenog vremena, nesto sto se ne bazira na konceptu farminga (koji ce uskoro biti zabranjen u Kini).

Stvarno bi mogao da se malo informises o igri pre nego sto krenes da kritikujes ;).

Grafika je ok (odlicni modeli i ne bas najbolje teksture) i verovatno je u top 3 sto se tice grafike u MMO igrama. Nije zamazana bloomom kao sto rade ostali MMOovi (Guild Wars, WoW, Perfect World...).

Meni je jako zao sto ne mogu da pricam o samoj igri. Imam jako puno toga da kazem ali bi to znacilo insta ban accounta (vec sam dobio warning :(.

A sto se tice sistema placanja u GW, vi ljudi morate da shvatite da toga vise nece biti. Guild Wars 2 je vec sad vaporware naslov i ako se ikada pojavi (a nece jer NCsoft nije u stanju da podrzi dva tako velika projekta u isto vreme kakvi su Aion i GW2, znam iz prve ruke). Guild Wars je bio free zato sto je NCsoftu bio potreban naslov koji ce ih probiti na zapadno trziste. Od izlaska GW nijedna NCsoft igra nije koristila takav model placanja.

Jedno pitanje za ove koji igraju betu, ako smeju da odgovore: da li se i ova igra bazira na nemilosrdnom grind-ovanju ili tu ima i nekih questova i sl.
 
Nema grinda. Questovi su u formi misija i nekad su skriptovani nekad ne. Igra je u sustini istrazivackog tipa gde ti je glavni cilj da prezivis. Znaci sta god vidis na putu ti lepo u inventar jer nikad ne znas kad moze da zatreba. Municije imas jako malo na pocetku i to malo se potrosi dok kazes keks. Kao u Falloutima mozes da zaradis razne bolescure i ako ih ne izlecis ode tvoj lik u vecna lovista posle par dana.

Srz igre je udruzivanje jer sam neces preziveti. Znaci vi sto ste iz iste frakcije udruzite se, delite municiju, oruzje, materijal, crafteri od tog materijala prave prevozna sredstva advanced oruzje, armor i slicno. Likovi koji su u beti su totalni frikovi i oni ovu igru dozivljavaju krajnje ozbiljno. U prevodu nema klinaca od 15 godina koji psuju po chetu, cheatuju i ometaju gameplay.

Igra nema apsolutno nikakve veze sa WoWom i klonovima. Nije u pitanju klasican MMO vec ima neke elemente koje najavljuju za Old Republic. Medjutim sve je to u nekako sirovoj formi, pocev od grafike (lose izveden lightning), inventara i generalno svih elemenata igre. Igra nije eye candy i nije noob friendly. Znaci Fallout 3 MMO koji je poprilicno komplikovan (pravljenje stvari, seme za pravljenje, lecenje) i poprilicno je surova igra.

Vec sam nekima pozajmio account da se malo igraju pa cu da vidim ako su izgubili interesovanje da dam nekome odavde da proba.

A sto se tice toga sta se sme a sta ne mrzi me vise da se pridrzavam toga. Lika nisam puno razvijao (pre nego sto je uginuo od radijacije :() jer je CB i bice wipe na kraju. Ako ce bas da prevode srpski da bi videli da li sam prekrsio pravila neka im. Ionako cu igrati Open Betu kad se pojavi (a mozda i full).

igrah wow godinu i neshto i otkako je izashla ova lich king ekspanzija momentalno prestadoh sa istim,preeevishe lako i nezanimljivo dok je ovaj fallen earth bash ono shto hotju :>
 
Moracu da te razocaram ali nista od toga :(. Trejdovao sam account za Huxley Closed Beta account (koja je inace US only).
 
Boze me sacuvaj kako glup clanak. Nista konkretno nije rekla. I da babes, yeah right. Kome su se dopale Raiderke i FO3 dopasce mu se i "cice" u FE. I nema sexa niti bilo cega slicnog ako vas to zanima.

A drugo, da sam nekim slucajem vezan za stolicu, ili da imam 300kg pa ne mogu da izadjem iz sobe ili da uopste nemam zivot, onda bih mozda ovo igrao i uzivao, ovako ne vidim sta developeri ove igre zele da postignu i koji je njihov cilj. Posebno kad postoje free to play koji izgledaju bolje od ove igre.

Mislis izgledaju bolje graficki ili su bolje igre sveukupno? I bas me zanima o kojim to F2P igrama pricas posto sam vecinu igraju i ne slazem se da je ijedna bolja od Fallen Eartha. Mada ako si WoW fan nije ni cudo sto ti se FE ne dopada.
 
Ne, ja mrzim WoW. Sam seting i sve ostalo u FE je okej, ali ima previse bug-ova i to previse ociglednih, kao recimo konj sa jahacem koji je propao kroz zemlju i samo glava viri. Sama grafika meni nikada nije bila presudna, tako da kao sto sam i rekao mogao bih da je svarim, ali kada svoj proizvod uporede sa igrama koja su trenutno na trzistu i koje se placaju ovo tehnicki daleko zaostaje za njima. A sto se tice f2P pa recimo novi Dungeons & Dragons Online koji ce izaci otprilike u isto vreme izgleda bolje, i mnogo optimizovanje, pa cak i Guild Wars izgleda daleko bolje od ove igre u svim aspektima. Jedina prednost ove igre je setting koji je za MMORPG-ove jedinstven i to je ono sto ce privuci igrace. Moje licno misljenje je da bi bilo malo "neozbiljno" da traze pretplatu od 15eu za ovu igru. Meni licno gameplay nije po ukusu, zahteva previse vremena da se provede iz igru.

Ušao sam u beta program, probao sam igru i moj finalni sud o njoj je: Anarchy Online na malo drugačiji način. Grafiku je vreme pregazilo, korisničko okruženje je loše dizajnirano i pretrpano. Cela igra odiše atmosferom kakve su imale igre pre 7-8 do 10 godina.

Ovo treba da bude F2P inače će da padne u zaborav vrlo brzo. Jednostavno ne zaslužuje mesečnu pretplatu.

To je tvoje misljenje. Postoji veliki broj ljudi koji su spremni da placaju FE (ja nisam medju njima). Glavni razlog sto necu igrati Fallen Earth jeste ono sto je killbane zapazio. Igra jednostavno od coveka zahteva previse vremena (kao i svaki drugi MMO) a ja jednostavno nisam spreman na to. Zato i merkam Huxley ili nesto slicno sa malo PvE i mnogo PvP.

A to za zaborav si mozda u pravu (mada nije da se nesto prica o njoj). Ali isto tako ce pasti u zaborav i AION kad ljudi shvate da nije nista specijalno. Jedini full blown MMO kome planiram da posvetim ozbiljnu kolicinu slobodnog vremena jeste Old Republic. Sve ostalo je trosenje vremena do izlaska SW:OR. Ali ako me pitas da li bi igrao AION ili FE (iako je zastareo) odgovor bi bio FE. AION je fascinantan samo onima koji nisu igrali nijedan MMO pre njega.

Ne znam da li ce biti 15EUR. Mozda bude 7-10. Ali ako bude F2P ode mast u propast (takve igre znaju da kostaju mnogo vise od P2P).

Dungeons & Dragons Online betu sam davno probao i igra je bezveze. Sta su toliko promenili osim toga sto ce biti F2P (mac s dve ostrice)?

Guild Wars vise niko ne igra.

Fallen Earth jeste debelo neoptimizovan ali Open Beta je 6 meseci daleko (secam se kad je situacija bila i gora nego sada).

Izlazak igre je najavljen za 9. septembar. Ja licno bih svakako pre igra FE, cak mislim da i on nije losa igra, jednostavno mnogo vremena trazi a ja ne vidim smisao igranja takvih igara. Inace GW je idalje pun i veoma zivahan, sto i mene cudi, D&D cu videti kakav je uskoro, a SW ce se najverovatnije igrati.

Uh bas sam outdated. Evo sad vidim na sajtu pise 9. septembar (nisam cekirao ni sajt ni beta forum od kako se zanimam sa Huxley). Pa kako to odjednom, igra ima gomilu bugova koje treba resiti, optimizacija je blago receno tragicna. Secam se da su ranije pricali da nece pre kraja godine, otkud sad zurba :trust:

Zanimljivo za Guild Wars. Probao sam pre nekih 6 meseci (davno bese). Bilo je pusto. A ovaj D&D Online se meni nije dopao (ali davno je to bilo) ali to ne znaci da nece tebi ili bilo kome drugom. Jedino taj F2P zna da bude uradjen tako da te igra forsira da trosis ogromnu kolicinu novca inace si niko i nista.

ALLEN EARTH, LLC announced today that the post-apocalyptic massively multiplayer online (MMO) game of the same name will begin an Open Beta program August 17. Players who want to get an early glimpse of Fallen Earth on August 17 need only register on FilePlanet beginning Friday, August 14 at 1 p.m. ET (GMT-4).

Taking place in the Grand Canyon, Fallen Earth gives players the choice to rebuild the decaying world or participate in its destruction through use of the classless advancement system, real-time crafting and the seamless integration of first-person shooter and role-playing game mechanics.

“The Open Beta and Pre-Order programs give a much larger group of players the opportunity to experience Fallen Earth,” says Jessica Orr, product manager for Fallen Earth. “We are excited that players want to get a jump on the game, and we are including a little something extra for being among the first to order.”

Those who pre-order Fallen Earth at Direct2Drive get an exclusive in-game mount—the Wasteland Runner—which has four more points of defensive skills, 2500 more Stamina and six more pack slots than other horses. Additionally, pre-orders receive a guaranteed spot in the Open Beta and a five-day head start in the game, beginning September 4.

Open beta traje manje od mesec dana. Ovi su definitivno prsli s mozgom ili ih pritiska izdavac. Nece ovo na dobro da izadje. Ima da bude kao AoC :S:.

Pa naravno, ne mogu da pričam u nečije drugo ime. Ne kažem ja da je igra loša, ali je prevaziđena u onim aspektima koji danas omogućavaju nekoj igri da živi. Ona će imati svoju igračku bazu, ali će to biti hard core manjina, apsolutno beznačajna ako se bude poredila sa igračkom bazom neke druge igre.

Off:
Što se tiče tvoje opaske o AIONu, slažem se da je igra prosečna, ali je možda upravo u tome njena čar. U Aziji ima 3M pretplatnika i već godinu dana radi nesmanjenom jačinom, čak prikuplja nove pretplatnike što je veoma retka pojava među današnjim MMO igrama. Sto se tice AoC, ja sada igram ponovo i mogu da kazem da je, bar meni licno igra sada odlicna, neverovatno koliko se razlikuje od one verzije koja je izasla prosle godine. Nema bug-ova, mnogo je bolje izbalansirana. Ranije je bilo mucenje igrati je, dok sada to ide mnogo tecnije. Ja ugravnom igram solo i taj aspekt je sada mnogo sredjeniji i laksi. Inace server na kome je igram je RP-PVE i za razliku od ranijeg stanja sada je pun, ponekad mi se cini da ima i previse guzve.

A sto se tice Aiona, mene licno nije previse zaiteresovao sto ne znaci da je igra losa, ali kada vidim podatak da ima mnogo pretplatnika u Aziji i da je tamo popularna, bar meni licno to i nije neka preporuka.

Kada je D&DO u pitanju jednostavno zelja im je bila da igra bude vise casual, i da odgovara pen&paper iskustvu. Oni koji placaju, koliko se meni cini nemaju neke velike prednosti, recimo da mogu da uzmu drow elfove kao rasu ili da mogu da uzmu neke prestige klase, koje mogu da uzmu i obicni igraci ali tek kada zarade ingame novac ili poene. Ali videcemo, ionako izlazi isto kad i FE. Inace dobio sam poziv za betu, ali ionako cu probati original,pa ne zelim da se smaram betom.

Igrao sam povremeno betu do juce. Iako su zadnjim patch-om popravili malo teksture, ovo sto se vidi n trailerima nema blage veze sa onim sto se vidi u igri. Uz to lag ubija u naseljenim mestim, povremeno je neigrivo. Nemam pojma kako misle da to srede do izlaska za nekoliko dana. U pocetku sam mislio da zia ove igre stoji mali nezavisni tim, sastavjen od entuzijasta, jer samo to je moglo da opravda ovakvu igru. Sada vidim da je to poveci tim kome je glavni cilj da proda engine, pa su zato napravili Fallen Earth. Kome li oni misle da prodaju ovaj engine?

Igram je vec mesec dana i veoma je zarazna, atmosfera je odlicna, podseca na fallout a crafting ubedljivo najbolji koji sam video do sada. S obzirom da je igra F2P obavezno preporucujem svima.
