Kako bi bilo najbolje da podesim windows virtualnu memoriju ako imam 8gb rama na xp64?


Ma nema sanse, ako to ima toliko rama, ja cu da pojedem... ovaj... necu nista da jedem... 🙂
Jesi siguran da ti to nije neki pokvareni modul od 64mb, pa ga win pogresno cita? 😀
Jel moze neki nagovestaj sta radi taj komp od 63.9GB rama, bas me interesuje. Jel neki file storage, ili web host ili sta je vec?
Meni je 4GB fixno (vise fixno i ne moze cini mi se), a stavljen je na posebnu particiju pa tamo nek se siri (dal je brze na C ili na posebnoj ne znam, al ovde makar nema defraga tolko ).
U principu kad ti fizicki ram skoci na 4/5-6/7GB (mislim na VR) onda i page skace do skoro isto toliko.
Meni je bilo podeseno na 2-4gb, al kad sam stavio 8gb, prvi put u zivotu video sam poruku da ponestaje virtualne memorije.

znaci nista high end a i memorija nije direkno na ploci 😉
a u pitanju je database server, tj sql server 2005, koji realno koristi oko 1/3 raspolozive "radne memorije" (da citiram experte :d )
64gb ram ima zato sto se ljudi koji su narucivali standardno ne razumeju ni u sta pa je bilo po principu "sto skuplji server meni vise para ostaje"
zasto bi file storage imao 64gb? :trust:
a Mare i dalje ne cita - i jedan i drugi imaju 2gb swap, jednostavno im ne treba vise.mogli smo mi onom "proverenom" metodom da stavimo da je swap=1,5 x ram ali bi onda bacili u prvom slucaju 10gb a u drugom slucaju 94gb diska 😉

This makes sure that the free disk space of the operating system partition is large enough to hold the OS, hotfixes, installed applications, installed services, a dump file, and the page file. On a server that has 32 GB of memory, drive C may have to be at least 86 GB to 90 GB. This is 32 GB for memory dump, 48 GB for the page file (1.5 times the physical memory), 4 GB for the operating system, and 2 to 4 GB for the applications, the installed services, the temp files, and so on. Remember that a driver or kernel mode service leak could consume all free physical RAM. Therefore, a Windows Server 2003 x64 SP1-based server in 64-bit mode with 32GB of RAM could have a 32 GB kernel memory dump file, where you would expect only a 1 to 2 GB dump file in 32-bit mode. This behavior occurs because of the greatly increased memory pools.
