:wall:AMD’s recently released R9 280X is basically a re-brand of the HD 7970 GHz edition as it uses the same Tahiti XT2 chip. However, a new report suggests that the Tahiti XT2 chip in the R9 280X will be soon replaced with the improved Tahiti XTL chip which will lower the power consumption and run cooler. Now you must be wondering why would AMD update a card that has just been released. The reason behind that is AMD wasnt ready with their Tahiti XTL chip in time for the GPU14 event so they had to push out the R9 280X with the Tahiti XT2. However, it’ll now be replaced by a running upgrade which means that there wouldn’t be an announcement or anything. AMD will simply start shipping cards with the new Tahiti XTL chip and only way to tell these apart from the Tahiti XT2 based ones will be by looking at the BIOS of the card.
Jel ima neko informaciju kad na tržište stižu "nove" R9 280X?
