iako ce prvi procesori da se pojave za neki 2 meseca ECS nam je poranio i pripremio A790GXM-AD3 model😀

No CPUs as yet...

Being first with a new product is always a big deal for some companies, but we think ECS has gotten ahead of things just a little bit, as its most recently launched motherboard, the A790GXM-AD3 won't have a processor to go in its CPU sockets for about another two months.

The A790GXM-AD3 is the first AM3 motherboard with DDR3 memory support to be announced and as the product name suggests, this motherboard is using the AMD 790GX chipset and the SB750. The board itself doesn't look that spectacular, but at least ECS has gone for a 5-phase PWM which should allow for 125W AMD CPUs to work on this board.

Around the back there are two PS/2 ports, a clear CMOS button, a D-sub connector, an HDMI connector, six USB 2.0 ports, a single eSATA, Gigabit Ethernet and 7.1-channel analog audio jacks as well as an optical S/PDIF out. The board also has six SATA ports, a single IDE connector, three headers for an additional six USB 2.0 ports and power and reset buttons.

The board has four DDR3 memory slots, two x16 PCIe slots, two x1 PCIe slots and two PCI slots. The board also has a rather large heatsink on the MOSFETs and the chipset itself, which is located in a very unusual position towards the rear of the motherboard.

No pricing or release date was announced, but then again, it's not as if anyone is going to be in a hurry to get their hands on this motherboard, as AMD has yet to launch its AM3 Phenom II processors which are expected in February next year.

Poslednja izmena:

Same here.

AMD RD890 in Q2, even better overclocking coming

AMD will launch the AM3 platform in just a few months. AMD's first DDR3 platform will arrive in the first quarter. It is based on an updated RD790 chipset though, which means that the features are quite similar to those available found with the AM2+, especially since they use the same southbridge. The DDR3 support and new Phenom models, both quad and tri-cores, will be the main appeals at the launch. Later in Q2, AMD will unleash the real upgrade reason; RD890, paired with the new SB800 southbridge.

The RD890 will further build on the new and improved overclocking of AMD's processors and it is supposed to be an improvement over the RD790, which is still capable of bringing a Phenom II X4 945 higher then 6GHz. AMD will also bring Gigabyte Ethernet into the southbridge and support up to four graphics cards with 8x bandwidth each, or two cards with full 16x PCIe 2.0 bandwidth.

More USB and SATA ports, better and enhanced SATA support and speed, better power management, faster CPU-northbridge link, updated hardware monitor and many more things are to be expected when the RD890 chipset arrives in late Q2.

We've managed to get our hands on a picture of what should be the first AM3 motherboard from Asus and once again the model name code has been changed to indicate that the board uses a new socket, although as AM2+ got the 3, the AM3 boards get the digit 4 and as such the M4A78 Pro is an AM3 board based on the AMD 780G chipset.

The board itself isn't anything spectacular and from what we can tell, this first AM3 board from Asus uses DDR2 memory rather than DDR3. It comes with HDMI, DVI and D-sub connectivity as well as what looks like an optical S/PDIF out, four USB 2.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, 7.1-channel analog audio and two PS/2 ports.

The board also has a single x16 PCIe slot, two PCIe x1 slots and three PCI slots. In addition to this you'll find six SATA connectors and IDE connector, four headers for an additional eight USB 2.0 ports, a floppy connector and oddly enough the board also appears to have a serial port header.

We'd expect this board to arrive in time for AMD's launch of its AM3 processors and it might even show up at CES. We'd expect many more models to follow based on other AMD chipsets and maybe even some Nvidia chipsets.
