ubuntu resolution problem

instalirao sam ubuntu, izabrao 4 rezolucije 1280x1024, 1024x768, 800x600 i 640x480
graficka je nv6600 agp
monitor je samsung 913n

kada se pokrece X pojavi mi se sledeca slika (vidi attachment)

a evo i sadrzaja xorg.conf

ali uvek dobijem isto...

Probaj da komentiraš linije sa osvežavanjima. Znam da recimo X pod Fedorom može da iščita osvežavanja monitora prilikom pokretanja. To je doduše bilo sa nVidijinim drajverima, ali šta te košta da probaš. Samo ispred "HorizSync" i "VertRefresh" linija stavi "#".

namestio sam da radi, ali nemam 1280x1024 nvidia 1.0.9746 drajveri

Vrati "1280x1024" i default depth "24".

Kao root ukucaj:
#ddcprobe
ili
#xresprobe nv

Trebao bi dobiti detaljne podatke o monitoru (ddcprobe) ili osnovne podatke o max rezoluciji i frekvencijama (xresprobe <driver>).
Zanimaju te Horizontalna i Vertikalna frekvencija koje staviš na odgovarajuća mjesta pod sekcijom Monitor:
HorizSync
VertRefresh

Ja bih pokušao još sa dodavanjem modline-a. Ideš na online modeline generator i upišeš rezoluciju (x i y)i frekvenciju za koju si siguran da monitor može koristiti pri toj rezoluciji:

Izgenerirane linije staviš unutar sekcije "Monitor" u xorg.conf-u

Ako koristiš closed source Nvidia drivere tada pod sekcijom "Device" moraš imati:
Driver "nvidia"
umjesto
Driver "nv"
Također moraš imati zakomentiranu sljedeću liniju pod sekcijom "Module"
Load "dri"

Postoji još opcija za forsiranje modlinea, jer ponekad X-i discardaju tu postavku sa closed source NV driverima. Unutar sekcije "Screen" treba dodati liniju:
Option "UseEdidFreqs" "false"
