Twisted Metal PS3 Confirmed :Klanjanje
Sony Computer Entertainment's Twisted Metal franchise is headed to PlayStation 3, long-time series director David Jaffe has confirmed.
Jaffe will be overseeing development of the car combat title at his recently founded studio Eat, Sleep, Play. The first project out of Eat, Sleep, Play--Twisted Metal: Head-On: Extra Twisted Edition (PS2)--was a significantly beefed-up port of Incognito's Twisted Metal: Head On (PSP) that released this week.
An encoded hint as to the studio's next project was contained within that game, with the internet sleuths at GameFAQs and NeoGAF quickly cracking the code to reveal "Twisted Metal is coming on PSThree." Kotaku then verified the news with Jaffe himself.
No further details, such as a release date or distribution method, are available. Prior to the creation of Eat, Sleep, Play, Jaffe had worked on Incognito's Calling All Cars!, a downloadable PlayStation 3 title.
Sony is known to be pushing simultaneous retail and downloadable debuts of certain PlayStation 3 games, as evidenced by Incognito's Warhawk last fall and the upcoming releases of Slant Six Games' SOCOM Confrontation, and Polyphony Digital's Gran Turismo 5 Prologue.

Jaffe: PS3 Twisted Metal Next Project
When David Jaffe released Twisted Metal Head On: Extra Twisted Edition he promised that there was a hidden message in the game that would reveal the next project for Jaffe's Eat Sleep Play development studio.
Well it may have been "hidden really, really, really well" but you know how hardcore fans can be. A group over at Gamefaq managed to decipher the message in record time, discovering that it reads: METAL IS COMING ON PSTHREE.
I contacted Jaffe, who's hanging at DICE this week, to see if the gamers were on the money and he confirmed they were, adding his chagrin at how fast the code was discovered and cracked. Unfortunately, he hit me with a big fat no comment when I asked him if the upcoming PS3 version of Metal was going to be hitting the console via a disc or as a downloadable.
"As for how it gets distributed, no comment

Jaffe Confirms Twisted Metal for PS3 Not entirely surprising, but hey, a confirmation!
It's been rumored for a long time, but now David Jaffe has finally confirmed that a PlayStation 3 iteration of Twisted Metal is developer Eat Sleep Play's next project. Twisted Metal: Head On: Extra Twisted Edition for PlayStation 2 promised to carry a clue about his studio's next project, which was apparently cracked with internet-speed tenacity by the folks at the GameFAQs boards.
The message? "Twisted Metal is Coming on PSThree." Pretty straightforward!
Jaffe, who is currently at the D.I.C.E. Summit, confirmed the message with Kotaku, but declined to comment on whether the game will be on a physical disc or be sold via the PlayStation Store.
Last month, we spoke with Jaffe about the Extra Twisted Edition and asked what it would take for a PlayStation 3 entry to be made:
"If we were to make another one, I think part of our goal would be, 'How do we satisfy the fanbase that we have that we're very grateful for, but how do we also kind of rethink the series as a whole and the franchise as a whole, in order to really take it out of that, kind of...'
I'm terrible with analogies, but I keep throwing them out to you. We don't want to be the Steven Seagal of action movies; we want to be the Schwarzenegger of action movies, and so we want to figure out how to really turn it into a AAA product before we make another one."
Jaffe also spoke vaguely about the project that now appears to be Twisted Metal for PlayStation 3, saying, "We're right at the beginning, so we have a rough environment up on the screen. We're messing around with getting the interactivity going with the control of the character and things like that, but we're really early. We have a lot of the design done, but in terms of execution, it's just now starting to happen."
Asked if the title would be for Blu-ray or the PlayStation Network, Jaffe was unsure, noting that Sony would ultimately make the decision. However, he said that it is "not like a Calling All Cars. It's not from-the-ground-up, built to be a small little art/indie title, so I can tell you that. So it's not like a PSN title in that regard."
