"Before you install a Pentium D 945 or 950 processor, you will need to make sure you are running the computer with a minimum of BIOS revision 1.59, Rev A.



If your computer is using BIOS Rev 1.59A, there is no need to flash it to the latest version.



If you are running Windows 7, do not flash the BIOS with the Windows based XP flash. People have had problems with that and their computers no longer worked.



If you use the windows-based flash, you must disable your anti-virus software or the antivirus software may attempt to halt the flash as it will "think" a virus is attacking the BIOS. If the flash is halted, the game is over, and your computer is dead. It would be no different than having a power failure during a BIOS flash."
