A new Baldur’s Gate website went live a couple of weeks ago, suggesting that a new Baldur’s Gate game would be coming. Although there is nothing certain at this point, the website’s source code was updated a couple of days ago with some new quotes. Questions abound and no answers can be found as of yet. Are those new quotes addressed to the game’s fans or BioWare for abandoning the Baldur’s Gate franchise? Did BioWare want to ‘kill’ the franchise?

On the other hand, those quotes could simply hint at the new game’s content and identity. Shar was the godess of the forgotten realms and she is linked to the Dark Elf realm of Baldur’s Gate 2, the Underdark. According to some old rumors, this new project was supposed to be a remake of Baldur’s Gate to iOS and Android devices, however these new quotes suggest there is more than a port of the first game.

We should point out that this Baldur’s Gate game has nothing to do with the old games hitting Steam. As it was revealed by GameBanshee, former BioWare designer Trent Oster and his crew over at Beamdog are behind it and that they are not related to the Steam complete edition.

Trent Oster has also tweeted that he met Atari in GDC and an announcement would be coming really soon. This basically confirms that Atari has given the green light to this new Baldur’s Gate project.

Kako je krenulo, ima da se zaredaju kao pre 15 godina, prvo Fallout (Wasteland 2), pa Baldur's Gate...pa ko zna, mozda bude i Torment 2 za godinu-dve :)

tako je pravi restart, samo jos sledeca generacija konzola da se ne najavi i bice vrh :D
 
Ocekujem port prvog baldursgate-a za iOS, Android i Facebook...Neverujem da ce biti nova igra.

Zar nema vec tema o ovome? Uglavnom, moguce je i da bude neki hd remake.

ni j a ne vidim veliku poentu hd rimejka, ali ako ce to dovesti do nekih novih igara kasnije, neki im bude :)
 
Meni se ovo jako svidja, prvi bg nisam uspeo da odigram. Krenuo, pa mi crkao hd i ostali svi saveovi na njemu..
 
kao sto sam i ocekivao. lepo bi bilo da je ponovo predjem u 1920*1080 :)

Ja sam u nekoliko navrata bio raspoložen da počnem BG2, ali uvek me nešto sprečava, nisam je na žalost igrao u vreme kada me je drugi 'lebom 'ranio, a danas više nemam vremena ni živaca da se patim sa prastarom rezolucijom i čitanjem kilometara teksta. Ako bi to izašlo grafički doterano i sa nasnimljenim glasovima rado bih pokušao ponovo, BG igre su bile zaista neponovljive.
