Dust 514 is an upcoming free-to-play console-based FPS set within the Eve universe, developed by CCP Games. It was announced on August 18, 2009 at the Game Developers Conference in Cologne, Germany and was introduced with a short trailer featuring realtime footage of the game.[4][5] This will be the first video game to be released by CCP since Eve Online, and is under active development at CCP's Shanghai studio. According to Hilmar Veigar Petursson, the CEO of CCP Games, the game will be exclusive to the PlayStation 3.
Dust 514 will take place in and be directly connected to CCP's first game, Eve Online. There will be direct interaction between the two; player actions in one game will affect the political and economical status of the other. Additionally, an "orbital bombardment" in Dust 514 is a unique feature that involves an Eve Online spaceship firing at a designated ground target in a Dust 514 battle.

All combat within Dust 514 will take place, in real-time, on planets found in the Eve Online universe. The player alliances and corporations of Eve Online can hire Dust 514 players as mercenaries to fight for control over planets; the outcome of such battles will affect the sovereignty of player-run political powers in Eve Online. A direct form of interaction comes in the form of "orbital bombardments". Orbital bombardments allow a player in Eve Online to provide direct assistance to friendly forces in a battle in Dust 514. If a player in Eve Online is in position with a ship above a planet in which a Dust 514 battle is currently taking place, a Dust 514 player can designate a target for the ship to fire upon. This was first shown to the public as an actual ingame mechanic during EVE Fanfest 2012, although it had been previously featured during the 2011 fanfest in a cinematic trailer titled A Future Vision.
Both games share the same namespace, so a player in Dust 514 cannot choose a username that already exists in Eve Online or vice-versa. This allows players from both games to join the same corporation or alliance, in addition to real-time chat.
In an interview conducted by Simon Carless of Gamasutra, Petursson said that he hopes "these [Eve Online and Dust 514] communities will meld over time", bridging the two environments. He described the relationship between the flying-oriented nature of Eve Online and the infantry-oriented nature of Dust 514, saying "while the fleet does the flying, the infantry does the dying". The massive Eve universe will be the platform for all planetary combat. Brandon Laurino, executive producer of Dust 514, has confirmed that there will not be a set number of maps at launch, saying "We are covering literally a universe of planets, so there's thousands of different maps and they're all available to everyone who's playing."

U ovoj beti (nadam se da neće biti tako u full igri) ima borbe koje su limitirane na 12vs12 ili 16vs16 (najviše igrača je bilo 11-12 u mom timu) što je u nekim trenucima malo jer se heat koncentriše na jednom delu mape (skirmish mode, jedini dostupan u beti, nešto kao capture the flag) i u tom trenutku je cela mapa prazna. Mapa nije toliko velika i dosta je jednolična, što mi baš nema veze sa vezom (barem su trebali malo da porade na detaljima) sa bukvalno par stvari nabacanim na mapi (prepreke, zajebancije, brodovi, pod-ovi, turreti i ostale zajebancije) koje će služiti da se krijete kada ne ko pripuca na vas. Kao i svaka igra u UE3 engine-u, texture su užasne i ne znam kako ih nije sramota da ovo izbace. Pogotovu u pre-battle fazi, gde možete da kupujete, nadograđujete vašu opremu (dropsuits) kupujete skill-ove i oružja. Soba 2 sa 2, a fps 30... Ni malo nije tečno + nema opcija za drčanje po brodu nego se vuče kao retard pod punom opremom (nelogično). U beti možete da birate gde hoćete da igrate, tj da li bitku na US serveru ili EU, kao što rekoh, u proseku po 20 igrača je bilo na mapi, oni su rekli dosta više, tako da ne znam kako će da ostane, ali ovo mi je kao bilo koji drugi MP shooter za sada.
Sada malo pohvale. Po mapi galaxija, ono je ****NO OGROMNO! Ima mali milion planeta, mali milion sazvežđa, verovatno Eve igrači su već upoznati sa celim univerzumom ili šta već. Detaljisanje oko opreme je do jaja, boosteri za armor, za healht, stabilizatori, kustomizacija je stvarno do jaja odrađena i usitnjena samo tako. Ko bude igrao će dosta čitati šta za šta služi... Posle svake bitke dobijaš neku njihovu valutu i skill points. Njih trošiš na nadogradnju skill-ova (svaki skill ima 3 stupnja dok ne pređe kao u neki viši level) ili možeš da kupiš neki novi (npr za SMG Rifles jer oni nisu otključani na početku). Za pare, naravno kupuje se oprema, dropsuits i nadogradnju za iste.
Dobra stvar je u tome što se dropsuits oštećuju, kao i oružje i tako to, tako da jedan set opreme vam neće trajati više od pet partija (u proseku) tako da uvek morate da imate 20-50 pušaka npr i tako to. Druga valuta je Aurum, i za sada nisam video način kako doći do nje kroz igranje. Može se kupiti direktno iz igre for real money. Naravno za to se mogu kupovati puške i ostala oprema, koja je naravno, najbolja . Ja sam dobio 4000 sa ovim pack-om a npr level 1-2-3 Assault Rifles koštaju između 7-14 Aurum-a što nije toliko mnogo. Ali uzeći u obzir da će ti biti potrebno preko 200 pušaka za mesec dana, onda nije ni malo jeftino, ne računam ostalu opremu koja se krši bukvalno...
Imate 4 pre-made klase, Assault, Heavy Assault, Support i Medic, a kada nakupujete vaš dropsuits onda možete da pravite vaše custom klase, samo morate ispuniti sve slotove u dropsuits koje su neophodni za borbu da bi uopšte ušli u bitku. Ukoliko vam se nešto polomi u bitci iz dropsuit invertara, vi nećete više moći da koristite taj dropsuit, nego morate koristiti pre-made do kraja partije. Zbog toga je uvek dobro imati po 2-3 custom dropsuit opreme a to znači dosta para
Tu su i vozila (letelice tenkovi) ali njih nisam probao (sem što sam bio podrška) tako da ne mogu pričati o tome
