"Vladimir Vukicevic of the Firefox team stumbled upon some questionable practices from Apple while trying to improve the performance of Firefox. Apparently, Apple is using some undocumented APIs that give Safari a significant performance advantage over other browsers. Of course, "undocumented" means that non-Apple developers have to try and reverse-engineer these interfaces to get the same level of performance. You really have to wonder what Apple is thinking, considering the kind of retaliation Microsoft has gotten for similar practices.

U kom kontekstu je receno to oko performansi, tj. na sta se tacno odnosi. U cemu je brzi konkretno safari?
Pitam ovo, jer ne mogu sam licno da iskusim.
Imam matori G4 koji je spor kako god okrenes, i Safari brze sljaka u smislu da se brze ucitava i slicno. Ali ne znam koliko je to merodavno jer je matora masina u pitanju.

covek je otkrio da vsync ne radi kako bi trebao - tj. da za Safari postoje posebna podesavanja i da za njega ne vazi vsync

Voice over IP apps like Skype that attempt to use the cellular data connection will be blocked. Competing web browsers Firefox and Opera are forbidden. Even Sun is now backpedaling on its recent announcement of a java port, noting that there are some legal issues. Critics are already comparing Apple's methods to Comcast's anti-net neutrality filtering, and Microsoft's Netscape-killing antitrust tactics. Could Apple face government regulators?"

A evo i mozda novi Dell?

h oh. Japan's trade and economy ministry is now officially investigating the explosive nature of the iPod nano. The culprit is model MA099J/A -- AKA, the old black and white plastic model already reported to spew "chest high flames," cause bedroom fires, and explode across the floor. The Japan incident occurred in January when an iPod nano reportedly "shot out sparks while recharging." At this point, all odds are with the nano's lithium ion battery. Apple Japan has been ordered to investigate the issue and report back to the ministry with the cause. Kind of like asking the fox what it was doing in the hen house, eh?
