Samo na ovaj nacin moze da se intsalira steam kod mene

Da nisu u pitanju te 32-bit libaries koje su bile neophodne za steam i prije kada sam koristio puppy linux?

Pa dobro, šta god da je potrebno ali sad valjda radi.:D:wave:
 
Imali neko neki lijek za horizontalni tearing u youtube klipoima na live verziju linux lite-a? Graficka je amd.
 
Da l' je realno da XFCE (xubuntu) nisu rešili taj problem, već je potrebna neka gimnastika? I to je tako već više od 5 godina? Ja ništa nisam dirao u Xubuntu i A6-5400K mašini, tako je kako je.
 
Realno ili nerealno, ne znam jedino da li Xfce-ov kompozitor pravi ovaj tear i na Intel grafici? Može da proba i da ga isključi.

Da dodam čoveku svoj stari compton.conf, da mu se nađe, pa će samo da ispravi senčenje koje mu ne odgovara, ako se odluči za Compton kao fix:

Zato sam presao na Kubuntu
 
^Realno, to je jedan od retkih problema sa Xfce koji se lako nekim od pomenutih načina ispravlja. Zanemariva sitnica za DE na koji čovek može uvek da računa.
 
^Linux? Stalno napreduje i menja se... Dovoljno je pogledati obim izmena i dopuna u npr. "Nemilosrdnom Ugoru":


To no surprise, my "favorite" kernel subsystem... There is a lot of new material for Radeon and Intel Direct Rendering Manager (DRM) drivers this cycle while unfortunately no Nouveau / open-source NVIDIA changes made it this time around.

- Intel's DRM driver has now enabled Cannonlake support by default. Cannonlake support was being baked the past few kernel cycles and hidden behind an alpha support flag while now it's turned on by default for these Intel "Gen 10" graphics. Cannonlake CPUs should begin shipping later this year.

- While Cannonlake isn't even out yet, Intel developers have also started on their bring-up for "Gen 11" graphics with Icelake. It will likely be a few kernel releases before that Icelake Linux support is squared away.

- Intel HDCP support has been mainlined with this work that was started by Google's Chrome OS developers. This is the first mainline Linux kernel DRM driver offering High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) but fear not as it won't restrict any users rights unless the Linux desktop ends up seeing user-space software wanting to make use of HDCP and attempt to enable the new kernel support.

- AMDGPU DC enabled by default for all supported graphics cards. Up to now the "Display Code" was only enabled for Vega and Raven Ridge GPUs but now older hardware going back to GCN 1.2 will see the new capabilities out-of-the-box. AMDGPU DC provides HDMI/DP audio, it will allow FreeSync when the remaining interfaces land, atomic mode-setting, HDMI 2.0 features, and other display improvements.

- Support for the yet-to-be-released AMD Radeon Vega 12 graphics processor.

- The AMDGPU driver also now presents WattMan-like power management features.

- Yet another exciting addition on the open-source AMD graphics driver front is AMDKFD working well with discrete GPUs like Polaris and Fiji. What this means is that ROCm / ROCm OpenCL will be able to run out-of-the-box on a mainline Linux 4.17+ kernel where as up until now with these discrete GPUs it has required out-of-tree kernel patches/modules for this GPGPU compute support.

- The Etnaviv DRM driver for reverse-engineered Vivante GC graphics hardware support hs wired into using AMDGPU's scheduler now known as DRM_SCHED.

- There are also VGA Switcheroo improvements and enhancements to the growing number of small ARM/embedded DRM drivers.

Processors / SoCs:
The Linux ARM space continues to be as busy as ever, there's still ongoing work for Spectre/Meltdown mitigation on various architectures, obsolete CPU architectures being dropped, some new CPU/SoCs added, even some patches for Chinese x86 CPUs, and other processor improvements with Linux 4.17.

- Making a splash early in the Linux 4.17 cycle was news of eight obsolete CPU architectures being removed. That indeed happened and it freed up a half million lines of kernel code by getting rid of these old CPU targets.

- In addition to the eight architectures being dropped, POWER4/POWER4+ CPU support was also dropped. POWER5 and newer are still supported as well as the PowerPC 970, but for IBM POWER4 the code had been broken for about two years and was now decided to just drop that code.

- Meanwhile, a new CPU architecture being added to the mainline tree is for the Andes NDS32. The Andes NDS32 hardware is used mostly for IoT, medical, wearable devices, and other low-power/tiny-footprint type devices.

- Initial support for the NVIDIA Tegra "Xavier" SoC for this high-performance ARMv8 chip with custom "Carmel" CPU cores and Volta graphics. Linux 4.17 also has support for the NVIDIA P2972 development board and P2888 CPU module.

- The ARM SCMI framework has been mainlined for offering ARM power management in a platform independent manner, well, once supported by all the ARM players.

- The Samsung (Exynos4) Galaxy S3, Allwinner H6 with Pine H64, Libre Computer Card RK3328, Orange Pi Zero +, Banana Pi M2, and Teres-I are among the new boards/devices supported by the mainline Linux 4.17 kernel.

- IBM s390 improvements for Spectre defense.

- Improvements to the RISC-V CPU code.

- SPARC ADI functionality that provides key-based access to virtual memory.

- AMD improvements for KVM as well as VirtIO GPU preparations for IBM s390.

- Microsemi Ocelot SoC support for these MIPS-based chips.

- Zhaoxin has been working on kernel patches for their Chinese x86 CPUs with this company owned by VIA and the Shanghai government.

A ukoliko mislite na desktop okruženja, konkretnije Xfce, njegov razvoj je završen. Dobija samo ispravke i pri tom razvojni tim uopšte ne žuri za razliku od KDE developera.

Nestrpljivima i željnima novih fičera je to drugo okruženje bolja preporuka.:wave:

I sad, pored svih tih alternativa, vi se uhvatiste da kritikujete baš onu kojoj je razvoj prestao(mada nije za bacanje).:D:wave:

Da li je realno da linux nije nista napredovao u zadnjih par godina xD

Linux je napredovao i stalno napreduje ali Linux je samo kernel. Ostali softver koji zajedno sa kernelom cini operativni sistem i nije bas napredovao, barem vecina softvera koji ja koristim. Ima par primera gde je doslo do napretka ali uglavnom je stagnacija u pitanju. Recimo GIMP, nekada je mogao da se nosi sa fotosopom u nekim poluamaterskim poslovima ali je u medjuvremenu PS toliko unapredjen da nisu za porediti. Eto Krita je presisala GIMP u skoro svakom smislu. Gnome 3 je nedonosce za koje ne smeju da priznaju da su zabrljali. Plasma se vuce vec godinama i jos nije dobila sve opcije od KDE 4. XFCE4 je fakticki mrtvo okruzenje iako ga koristim. Openbox je "zavrsen" pre vise od pet godina, tu bas i nema neke zamerke jer je covek rekao da je uradio sve sto je hteo.

Ali kad pogledas konkurenciju, kako su oni napredovali? Windows, Mac, sta se tu epohalno desilo? Jel izasao neki novi softver vredan pomena?

@dolmen Xfce mozda jesu obustavili razvoj ali daleko od toga da se moze reci da su uradili sve sto se moze uraditi sa jednim DE. Pa ovi widgeti koji idu u systray su grozni od nastanka do danas. Obustavili aktivan razvoj jesu ali posao priveli kraju nisu. Openbox je priveden posao kraju, sve sto se moze ubaciti ubaceno je u WM, jer to je samo WM a ne full blown DE kao Xfce.

Šta je grozno, izgled? Ne bih se složio, recimo ovom desktopu bih malo zamerio u estetskom smislu a nije veliki posao da se podesi ovako.

Zna li mozda neko u cemu je ovde problem? Kada ga pokrenem samo tu stoji i ne mrda. U pitanju je Doom preko Winea.

Poksavas da pokrenes Doom koristeci Vulkan na GTX 660. To ne moze. A i da moze, igrati Doom preko Wine-a na takvoj konfiguraciji je ludost.
 
GTX6xx i novije sve podrzavaju Vulkan. Isto izbaci i kad ga pokrenem u OpenGL. Ne vidim zasto ne bi radilo, Doom preko Winea sa Vulkan apijem radi skoro isto kao i na Windowsu.

Ko je rekao da ne podrzavaju? Da si iole istrazio problematiku, skontao bi sta sam hteo da kazem. Doom 2016 ne mozes pokrenuti u Vulkan rezimu na kartici koja ima manje od 4GB V-RAM-a. Postoji neoficijelno resenje, ali je za Windows.

Isto izbaci i kad ga pokrenem u OpenGL. Ne vidim zasto ne bi radilo, Doom preko Winea sa Vulkan apijem radi skoro isto kao i na Windowsu.

Igre losije rade pod GNU/Linux-om cak i kada su nativno podrzane. To je cinjenica. A da ne spominjem vratolomije sa emulacojom tipa Wine. Takva kombinacija moze da radi i 50% sporije nego u Windows-u, ili kao kod tebe, nece raditi uopste. Nebitno da li je OpenGL ili Vulkan. Poenta je da ti je graficka kartica preslaba za Doom.

Njagora je stvar sto je doom trebao da bude i na linuxu. *mjau**mjau**mjau**mjau* zenimax cigane...

GNU/Linux podrska za Doom 2016 nikada nije bila u planu i nikada nece ni biti cak i za buduce naslove. Zaboga Doom III nikada nije dobio oficijelnu GNU/Linux podrsku. Jedina oficijelno podrzana igra za GNU/Linux je bila Quake III a to je bilo davne 1999 godine.
 
Problematika je u tome sto je narodna verzija koja ima Denuvo zastitu, a bilo sta sa Denuvom nece da se pokrene preko Winea. Za koji dan cu dobiti pare pa cu kupiti na Steamu. Odavno je poznato da su sistemski zahtevi zestoka glupost, pa ce i slabije kartice bez bilo kakvih problema terati igru kako treba. Da si ukucao na YT video bi brdo snimaka gde se Doom igra na GTX660. E sad sto vecina oce Ultra Settings sa 60FPS-om to je vec drugi problem. Ja sam zadovoljan i sa 30FPS. Igre koje ja igram nativno na Linuxu rade isto kao i na WIndowsu (ATS, ETS2, TR2013).
 
Da se ne lazemo ali gaming na linuxu je samo za one sa viskom vremena i developere... iako volim linux nisam lud da igram izbagovane blizzard igre preko winea kad sve bez prob radi na win. Ranije sam samo igrao dotu2 i za to nema razlike na linuxu. Cak mi je linux i vise odgovara kad ima native igru. Ali wine vratolomije za novije naslove samo treba zaobici...
 
Ja igram samo ETS2 i ATS na kompjuteru, a te dve igrice su nativno dostupne za Linux i rade mi odlicno. Doom sam hteo da odigram jer nisam igrao igrice skoro 5 godina (neracunajuci ATS i ETS2), a igra mi se sada neka dobra pucacina. Kada je uzmem na Steamu probacu. Vidim da ima i Rise of the Tomb Raider, SOMA, Alien: Isolation, Witcher i jos par poznatijih igrica nativno za Linux. Kada bude neki popust uzecu i to pa odigrati.

Nisu mi potrebni nikakvi YT snimici. A Doom sam presao cim je izasao. I ako kliknes na "Moja mašina" videces da takodje imam GTX660. Dakle, ne nagadjam, vec pricam iz iskustva. Sobzirom da je tebi 30FPS dovoljno. Nemamo o cemu dalje da pricamo.

Pogadjac dvaput ko ih je sprijecio. Hint moj pokojni otac nije.....

Sve jedno. GNU/Linux verzija ne postoji i nikada nece.
 




Zna li neko u cemu moze biti problem? Sve je radilo normalno do pre par sati. Ugasio sam racunar, butovao Windows 10, igrao igrice, ugasio racunar i kada sam pokusao da butujem linux dobio ovo na slikama..

Meni se to desavalo kad windows ima neki veliki update i sam opet aktivira fast boot, ntfs particije ostanu nezatvorene. Drugi slucaj kad mi se to desvalo je update plasame pa malo prolupa, onda kao root uradim to sta je predlozio na slici systemctl...
Koliko vidim buni se na plymouth, iskljuci ga totalno ima negde na arch uputstvo kako se macinje a i trebalo je da ga makne sam jer je sad tendecija da se makne plymouth,kod mene u Manjaru je maknut.
