In the video below, executive producer Fredrik Rundqvist thanks fans for their support, and promises that Ubisoft Massive will use its experience with PC development to deliver a quality experience. The announcement is yet another sign of Ubisoft’s increasingly warm stance on PC gaming; the publisher was notoriously uncommitted to the platform a few years ago.
The Division was announced at E3 2013 as a next-gen console release; it’s an always-online co-op shooter, which could probably be described as an MMO, although Ubisoft doesn’t seem to like the term, and is definitely an RPG. Set in a plague-ravaged world, it has players working to restore order, and is part of the Tom Clancy family of games.
At this stage, Ubisoft hasn’t dated the game beyond late 2014.
