The Best Corded Stick Vacuums for Any Challenges - Top Vacuum Cleaners in 2022
Finding a good vacuum cleaner can be surprisingly tricky. There are so many things to take into consideration from the brand, price, types of vacuum cleaners,
performance, features, attachments, and more.
In 2022, if you’re looking for a new vacuum cleaner, our top recommendation for you is to get a stick vacuum. Much more portable and versatile than a full-size vacuum, but it will still have the cleaning power to keep your house spotless.
Today’s article -
Best corded stick vacuums for any challenges is all about corded stick vacuums. The following models can help you out no matter what you’re looking to clean, from mud and dirt to debris and pet hair.
1. Shark HZ2002 Vertex UltraLight
If you’ve ever used a Shark vacuum before, then you will recognize Shark’s familiar design language in the HZ2002 Vertex UltraLight.
The body of the vacuum is located at the top, along with components like the filters, dust cup, and controls. A detachable, long suction wand is attached to the front and married to the cleaning head at the bottom. The overall design of the vacuum is sleek, which makes it more portable and easy to store.
What makes it even better is the weight. Fully-assembled, the HZ2002 weighs around 9 pounds. By removing the suction wand and converting the vacuum to a handheld unit, the weight is slashed down to only 3 pounds.
The Shark HZ2002 has decent performance. It performs best on bare floors. However, when it’s placed on carpeting, suction power notably decreases. While it’s able to deal with pet hair and large debris well on both low-pile and high-pile carpets, it’s going to struggle at cleaning small debris.
As such, we recommend this vacuum for people with mostly bare floors around the house. There are other vacuums on the list that can handle carpets better than this one.
It comes with a 30-foot power cord, which is acceptable for a corded stick vacuum.
One thing we don’t like is that it doesn’t have a HEPA filter. Thus, it’s not a good vacuum for allergy sufferers.
2. Shark APEX UpLight
The APEX UpLight is yet another best-selling model from Shark. It is praised both for its superb cleaning performance as well as good design.
Suction power is strong enough to pick up any trace of dirt, dust, and debris on bare floors. Performance is maintained on carpeting. In our test, the APEX UpLight does just as good a job on low-pile carpets as it did on bare floors. On high-pile carpets, the vacuum struggled a little bit at picking up small debris, but eventually, the vacuum managed to pick everything up.
Portability is great despite the weight of the vacuum being on the heavier side (11 pounds). Still, you have the option to take off the suction wand and reduce it to a handheld unit. The APEX UpLight only weighs around 4 pounds in this form.
The power cord’s length is decent at around 30 feet long.
Inside the vacuum, you get HEPA filtration. A few accessories are included, but not a lot. Our unit came with only 3 pieces: a turbo brush, a hard bristle brush, and a crevice tool. A bit disappointing for a vacuum at this price point.
3. Bissell PowerGlide Pet Slim, 3070
The Bissell PowerGlide Pet Slim 3070, like the name suggests, is going to be a good fit for pet owners. It was practically designed from the ground up to clean up pet hair.
There’s enough suction power in the vacuum to snap up pet hair on both bare floors and carpeting. Additionally, with the aid of the tangle-free motorized brush, you can clean without having to worry about clogging or jamming. Note that the “tangle-free” brush isn’t fool-proof. You’ll still have to clean it from time to time. Its design simply makes it much harder for pet hair to tangle up the brush.
The vacuum weighs 9 pounds in total, which is acceptable for a stick vacuum. You can also convert it into a handheld vacuum by removing the front suction wand. The weight would be halved down to 3-4 pounds.
Power cord has a standard length of 30 feet. A few accessories are included, like a crevice tool, dusting brush, and a special pet TurboEraser tool. The latter helps you clean pet hair more efficiently.
4. Bissell Featherweight Stick Vacuum, 2033
If you need a budget-friendly vacuum, the Bissell Featherweight would be an excellent option. A unit costs less than $50, which can be a bit concerning. Fortunately, our tests showed that the Featherweight offers a lot of value for the price.
As expected, the vacuum performs best on bare floors. It can clean up pet hair, most types of debris, dirt and dust without an issue. Performance is less stellar on carpeting. While it can clean up pet hair and large debris, the vacuum struggles with cleaning up smaller debris and particles.
Like its name suggests, the vacuum is very light. The whole thing weighs around 3 pounds, making it extremely portable. Similar to other stick vacuums on this list, you can also convert it into an even lighter, more portable handheld unit. It weighs around 1 pound in this form.
Range is disappointing since it has a very short power cord. We measure it at only around 15 feet. You will have to stick close to an electrical outlet wherever you go. If where you want to clean has no outlet nearby, you may have to resort to using an extension cord.
Besides the short power cord, Bissell has made a lot of compromises to make the vacuum this affordable, too.
It doesn’t have a HEPA filter and only comes with regular air filter pieces. The only accessory that it comes with is a crevice tool to help you clean corners and hard-to-access spaces. Last but not least, the build quality isn’t exactly the best. Most of the vacuum’s body is made from cheap plastic, so durability is a concern. If you were to drop it, dents or cracks are to be expected.
Still, it’s not so bad for a sub-$50 vacuum cleaner.
Conclusion
So these are 4 best-rated corded stick vacuums we’ve found so far. Each one is great for a specific purpose and comes in different price ranges. Whichever you choose, they’re guaranteed to work great.
