Dark Souls II just got a world premiere trailer at the 2012 Video Game Awards. It's coming for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. See for yourself. Looks ... tough, and unforgiving. As usual.

The game will star a new hero in a new world and will have a new director, as the series' creator, Hidetaka Miyazaki, takes on a supervisor role.

But here's a surprise: the series' creator, From Software's Hidetaka Miyazaki, will serve only as a supervisor on the sequel, while the game will actually be directed by From's Tomohiro Shibuya. His comments about the game don't shed a whole lot of light on the sequel, other than to indicate that the new title will be faithful to the older ones but also introduce new things (as expected, of course): "This new chapter in the Dark Souls saga presents opportunities for us to drive innovation in gameplay design, develop an entirely new story, and expand the scope of the world in which the player interacts with the game. We have taken these necessary steps with Dark Souls II in order to evolve the overall experience of the Dark Souls series...the entire development team is striving to make Dark Souls II an experience that is fresh while not forsaking its roots in presenting players with challenging gameplay. Our goal is to surprise and delight our fans with new experiences and plot twists while enticing new players to join our dark journey."

According to the game's publisher, the new game "will feature a new hero, a new storyline, and an unfamiliar world for players to survive in while delivering its signature brand of unrelenting punishment that players hunger for."

It seems that multiplayer is going to be tweaked as well. Demon's Souls and Dark Souls had an unusual multiplayer system that allowed users to do everything from leaving quest hints for each other to invading each other's games. So what to make of this bit from the press release about Dark Souls II ? "Players seeking to share their experience will discover a revamped server-based multiplayer mode that will put a distinct Dark Souls II twist on the concept of playing with others."

The game's publisher, Namco, is promising a game full of "unrelenting challenge."

No timeframe given, though anything sooner than late 2013 would be a shock. No mention of Wii U or next-gen platforms.

To bre, super vest, meni se vise dopao world/character tendency iz Demon's Souls pa ce nadam da ce ga delom vratiti u Dark Souls II, mozda u nekom miksu sa covenantima.
 
Ladno ga prave i za PC. Ne verujem. Sjajna vest.

Bas me zanima koliko je kopija prodato putem Steam-a i da li je to razlog sto prave i za PC. Koliko znam konzolne verzije se nisu prodale u ubi boze puno primeraka.
 
Preko 2 miliona, sto je odlicno.
Najveci broj kopija je otisao na ps3.

Baš i neverujem u to, pošto se Demon's Souls kao PS3 eskluziva mučio sa nekih 800k prodatih kopija.

800k je daleko od mucenja, buduci da je to nekoliko puta veci tiraz od ocekivanog.
A sem toga, mislim da je to cifra koja se odnosi samo na USA.
Cini mi se da sam citao da je ukupan tiraz do sada oko 1.5M.

Sto se Dark Soulsa tice, igra nije objavljena na x360 u Japanu, a PS3 verzija se samo tamo prodala u 400k kopija.
Procene su da je PC verzija otisla u 500-600k, sto je odlican rezultat, koji je u rangu prodaje na xboxu.

Jedva cekam ovo. Verujem da ce sada odraditi stvari kako treba i za pc.

Mislim da cu ovo ipak prvo da pazarim na PS3, najveci community je tamo. Pogotovo ako opet budu koristili gfwl
 
Ja do malopre nisam ni znao da je prvi deo izasao za pc.
Citao sam opise, kazu kao da si prikacio tastaturu i mis na konzolu :), dakle lose portovanje.
Prvi deo cu svakako nabaviti za ps3, a sacekacu za ovaj kad izadje....
 
lose je jedino po pitanju optimizacije (sa pojedinim kartama je veliki frame drop na pojedinim lokacijama , ali je tako i na ps3).

igra je predvidjena za joypade sa 2 analogna kontrolera za ugodno igranje , mis i tastatura ne idu nikako.

sto se tice grafike , DSfix je znacajno popravlja i cini igru doosta lepsom nego sto je na konzolama)...

...tako da je to sve sto ti treba da bi igrao ovu lose portovanu igru ;)

ja sam presao na misu i tastaturi bez problema. Samo treba smanjiti osetljivost misa na 300-400 dpi... vertikalnu malo vise.

precizniji je misom. Sa gempadom sam morao da selektujem protivnika, a onda mi ogranici kretanje... nezgodno u borbi sa vise kripova.
 
To je tačno. Bez selekovanja nema borbe sa gamepadom. Igram na tv-u pa me mrzi da se cimam, ovako mi je lakše, na džojpedu su mi sve kontrole pod prstima.
 
prvi port je bio sirov ali community je odradio svoje. nadam se da se from nece izblamirati kao prosli put.
 
Nadam se da nece, da ce bar malo prilagoditi igru platformi s obzirom na respektabilnu prodaju polupanog porta.

Inace, sa graficke strane PC verzija je superiorna (ukoliko imate iole adekvatnu konfiguraciju da to potera) u odnosu na konzolne. Jedino sto je jos uvek bolje u konzolnoj verziji, pricam o PS3, je broj igraca online. Malo je zamro PC komjuniti, ima tek par hiljada online dok na Soniju jos uvek veliki broj igraca igra Dark Souls.

I da, ima hakera na PCju ko pleve. Valjda je zato i manje popularna igra nego pre par meseci.
 
PC verzija je bila jeftinija zar ne?
Bas me zanima po kojoj ce ceni prodavati DS2.

Edge Magazine details
- Edge says they were shown a 10 minute playthrough of Dark Souls 2, and it is a huge step forward graphically. It looks on par with Watch Dogs and Star Wars 1313 in terms of "next-gen"-ness, or so they claim.

- Miyazaki is not working on the development of Dark Souls 2. He is not a director or producer, and is merely a "supervisor".

- Even as a supervisor, he isn't making any development decisions. He only tried to reinforce the team's commitment to releasing things on time, because of the bad experience they had with the patches in Dark Souls, and he also recommended the return to server-based gameplay ala Demon's Souls.

- The new directors, Tomohiro Shibuya and Yui Tanimura, are indeed the From Software staff who previously directed the Another Century's Episode series. The decision to have the two directors replace Miyazaki was a company decision made by both From Software and Namco Bandai Games to help move the series forward in a fresh direction.

- Miyazaki is working full time on directing a new game. He will not disclose if it is a new IP or a sequel to something else.

- Darks Souls 2 will be a direct sequel, and have an open world of about the same size, but more dense with content.

- It does not take place on Lordran. The name of the world is the key of the story, they will reveal it at a later date.

- One thing Shibuya wants to enhance is the action in the game. He feels that he can contribute because of his experience working on action games in the past.

- Shibuya says he wants to make things like the Covenant system clearer and more accessible, and he wants to make the story and messaging less subtle.

- He promises there will still be "hidden" elements in the story and world which can be missed.

- Development started in September last year, and was done in parallel with some of the Dark Souls patches and DLC content.

- The game is 25% complete, and the team is substantially larger than Dark Souls. The world creation internal staff for the sequel is nearly double that of the first game.

- The game might not make it for 2013.

pc verzija (download) se moze naci za 15ak evra. potrazite na cdkey store-ovima.

sto se tice ovih novih saznanja vezana za dvojku , ne svidja mi se sto ce prica sada verovatno biti a la homer simpson > bang , bang "hear ye , hear ye...".
fora je sto je bila ovako misteriozna i nejasna , ostavljala igrace da se pitaju jer je to sustina .. to think and imagine.

pohvale za grafiku , ako stvarno bude bila u rangu next gena (mada se nadam da ce biti sa stabilnijim frame rateom , pogotovo na ps3) i nadam se da ce open world biti dobro zamisljen i povezan kao u kecu.

ali je jedna stvar ostala pod znakom pitanja , na cemu radi stari director... mozda na novim Demonima? :d

Na zalost ne verujem. Jedini razlog sto Dark Souls nije bio Demons Souls 2 je taj sto je Sony vlasnik prava na ime.
 
e tu je kvaka. mozda se sony pozvao sada na njihovo pravo na ime , pa je uposlio ponovo from da urade i ekslkuzivu za ps3 (ionako su rekli da je from sada duplirao tim , tj duplirao broj ljudi koi rade na nastavku , ko zna koliko ih ukupno sada ima).

videcemo , sto je babi milo to joj se i snilo :d , jedini jak serijal koji jos oni rade je armored core ako se ne varam , a i cak da bude nesto totalno novo , ne sumnjam u kvalitet.
 
Sto se uvek vatate za te "direktore"? Pa nije on Hideo Kojima pa da mora on da radi na igri da bi bila dobra. Ako je tako u par slucajeva to ne znaci da bas svaki japanski dev studio tako funkcionise.
 
On je lično skicirao većinu korokondžula koje srećeš u igri, itekako ima veliki udeo u grafičkom dizajnu svojih igara :)

Sta znam mene dizajn neprijatelja nije toliko ostavio bez daha. Mene odusevljava level dizajn kao i karakter tih karakondzula. Zverinjak postoji i u Devil May Cry pa tu igru ne bih poredio sa Dark Souls.
